Hi, I'm fairly new to the program

  • Hi! I'm Raelynn, newly married and live in Western Canada. I have one daughter, she is 5 and is starting kindergarten next week (I'm depressed! LOL). I also work fulltime, as a Quality Manager in a callcenter.

I started LAWL on Aug 1, and I am down 15 lbs since I started. I always seem to hit a rut though (mentally), it usually happens to be about 7-10 days into a program, but I've made it a month, and the only bad days I've had have been this week, because I was travelling, and now that I am home, there has been no food in the house so I've been buying breakfast/lunch, which is as healthy as I can make it, but not what I'd like to be eating. We went grocery shopping tonight, and I've got my lunch packed for tomorrow. I am determined to see 199 before the new year!

I look forward to getting to know everyone here in this forum.

Edited to add: I am not doing the lites...someone close to me works at LAWL and put me on the program and is working with me at home
  • Hi Raelynn, glad that you found us!

Come on and join us in the monthly thread - that's where most of the 'action' takes place.

It is really easy to get into a rut foodwise -- I've been looking at my cookbooks this week, trying to see what I can modify to stay OP.

    Julie
  • hi everyone, my name is yvonne, i have been doing la weight loss for 2 months. is it better to not eat the lights, will i lose weight faster, they are so expensive, like 120 dollars a month. i would rather go without them, but the councelors tell me i really need them to lose the weight, i was 151 when i started, now i am 144. please help
  • thank you so much. i was actually 180 when i had my first son, and i started losing weight, then i got pregnant with my second son, and the weight is really hard to get off. i had appendicitis, that is why i lost that weight, i was 138, but quickly gained after my appendectomy. mabey if we all stick together we will all be at our goal weight before we know it
  • Keepin it together
I wonder why it is that losing weight is so hard and so emotional! I guess that everything can't be easy though. Jan. 7th of this year I had to have a complete hysterectomy, it took me about 3 months to lose the weight I had gained after being down, and then I turned right around and had to have surgery for a bloodclot and polyp. Down again. We are all trying to lose weight for health, and then our health keeps throwing us curve balls! I just try to take it in stride and look at it as a way to increase my desire to lose. Pats on the back from kind ladies in here helps ALOT!!

You don't need the lites. They will increase your plan to compensate for the protien and calories. They told me that I wouldn't lose as fast, but I averaged over 2lbs a week until I got real close to goal then it slowed down and I think that was because my body just got used to the caloric intake.
