This just made me smile. Our McDonalds don't sell lobster rolls. My son is coming to Boston for college in the Fall. I guess he'll eat exotic things like that at McDonalds. OK, I'm easily amused.
That's right, she's not from Texas/that's right, she's not from Texas/that's right, she's not from Texas/Texas wants her anyway!
Not making fun of you in any way, Tara--just couldn't resist quoting the tall-haired one. I live in a major metro market, one that usually tests out new McProducts, and I haven't seen the lobster roll, either. Any luck checking the McD's site or e-mailing them?
Tara, Just wanted to mention re: not having lobster rolls in your area...We see lobster rolls on the menu at McD when we are traveling in Maine and make a "potty stop" and get a soda at a strategically located McD's. I've always wanted to try one but they are regional. When travelling I don't do breakfast or lunch meals from restaurants--only dinner..and then I don't do fast food. If they were in my area I would be able to work it in. Interestingly (or maybe not--ha,ha) I find the same is true of local pizza. My daughter and I would like to try it when we're travelling just for fun but we can't fit it in.
Actually, when I traveled to California on business I was surprised to see that McDonalds serves southwestern type things, nachos, etc.
Also, some of the Mc donalds I have been in here (not to eat, mind you but they have a lot of the reststop business here in the northeast) have a lot of "different" offerings. I have seen Hot Dogs, clam chowder, in addition to the Lobster Roll.
I have never tried the Lobster roll since I have thought that it was a little pricey for the size. You can get the same thing at local restaraunts that are of better quality for just a little more.
