Prayers for Penny and her Family

  • Hi all,
I know I haven't been here in a long time. It has been a very busy summer. We did a lot of traveling. But anyway I wanted to ask everyone to say as many prayers for Penny and her family. The Hurricane hit where she lives. I talked to her on sunday and they were waiting for the next report which was in 5 min. to decide if they should stay or not. They didn't have anywhere to go but they had the camper packed and ready to go at anytime. I told her to stay safe and stay together. If they left they would have left with her parents. Anyway I called back later that night twice and there was no answer so I assumed they left. I hope they did and they are safe. Of course you can't get through down there now. So I have been thinking about her a lot the last few days and wondering if they are ok. I just hope there wasn't much damage to their home and that they will be able to return there.

So I am asking that you keep her in your prayers and the return home safe and have a home to come home to.

    Sherri
  • Oh no! They will definitely be in our prayers. Please let us know if you hear anything from her!
  • I hope they left and they are safe somewhere. I will certainly pray.
  • Keeping Penny and the many others in my prayers...
  • lady, thanks for letting us know! I hope Penny is okay...she'll definitely be in my prayers!
  • I will also keep Penny in my prayers and hope someone hears from her soon.... Barb
  • Penny- I hope everything is ok, we are praying for you sis, hope to hear from you soon

There are hundreds of people in need of all of our prayers ladies, lets remember the ones with lost loved ones and those left homeless, this is truly worse than anything I have ever seem in the U.S
  • Hey ladies, I post with Penny on a private board and one of our members called her cell phone and somehow she left a message on it saying they were all safe but no other info besides they will not have power for 4-6 weeks so don't be too alarmed if you don't hear from her for awhile. I will continue to check for posts from her or from our friend who got her cell message. I am keeping her in my prayers as well and was so scared for her and her family. I just stumbled upon this thread and thought I would let you know what I know, which isn't much but at least we know she is safe.
  • I also talked to Penny and she is a smart girl. She promised me they would not hesitate to leave. As Sherri said they had their camper hooked up to truck and were planning on going to their camping cabin which was in a safe place far from Katrina path. I am sure they must have left and we will hear from her soon.
This is such a horrible tragedy. I was worried when it hit the Gulf it might turn and hit us but we were spared.I have lived with the threat of hurricanes all my life and this is the worst one yet. New Orleans will have to be rebuilt completely .So sad.
  • I have an update on Penny. She and her family are fine but her house has some roof damage. They are without power but they do have water. Her husband stood in line for 4 hours to buy a generator the other day but they have to limit the use as the nearest operating gas station is 6 hours away from them. So for now they are living in their 5th wheel but they are doing okay for the time being.
  • I'm glad she's okay.
  • Thanks for the update, Michelle.
