  • Cranking us up for the day. The Girls are hollering so I'll have to leave and come back with a coffee!
  • Morning Ruth and the rest of you chicks to come. Can't believe it is Monday again. Wow I have lots of stuff to do to get organised for school, it is coming fast now. I love it when school goes back, it is like my New Years. I get totally organised and find it easier to get myself organised as well. Well I have to dash my arm is sore and it hurts to type to much. I did the big wipe out yesterday and fell down my outside stairs and hurt my arm. Its bruised and sore today. How stupid was I. Have a great day chicks.
  • Rise n Shine all you sleepy heads!
LC: Gosh I hope you didn't hurt your arm too badly - you sound like the Energizer Bunny! Have a good day organizing and what not!

    Ruth
: Ah, it's true ..we are slaves to our dogs! Whoever said, " A dog's life or working like a dog" got it wrong! Man, I wish I was a dog sometimes and all I had to worry about was getting petted, fed, watered, kissed and mated! Ah they have the life!
Ellis: That is definitely NOT a dancing fetus YEECH!, it is the Stay Puff marshmellow dude!

Me: Well I did take yesterday off , lounged and read.. while DH tackled just a corner of the jungle back yard.. He did a great job! Expecting a call from Best Buys to schedule delivery of the replacement dryer today.. and getting quotes on renters and car insurance... Today BACK TO WORK.. I still feel achy and criky.. but nuthin' a few Advil and cup a joe won't fix.

Will check back later! Have a GREAT DAY!!!!!
  • Good Morning! Today is the first day of the fall semester. Yeaaa!! I'm excited. I always love a new semester because it means I'm closer my goal of getting the hellout of here ...just kidding. No classes today but I teach at noon. I'm taking an advanced evolution class and a class on GIS satellite positioning...yuck to the latter. Sounds so boring but my friend is taking it and there's no other good graduate classes in ecology that I haven't already had. Oh well, at least I'll know how to figure out where I am !! Later on today my friends and I are going to the fair. I'm going to eat first so I don't get tempted....but fair food is all greasy and gross with tons of trans fat so it won't be too hard to abstain....its the ice cream cones I'll have to resist...and I will.

Ruth: Your dogs sound spoiled....as they should be !

Littlechick: Ouch!! Sorry about your arm. Take care of yourself.

Schatzi: Rest up and take care!! Advil is a miracle cure as far as I'm concerned. Love the stuff.

Everyone else: Have a great day and stay on the beach!!
  • Good morning, girls!

Ruth, give those girls a big hug for me. And here's one for you, too.

Little Chick, your poor arm! I hope it heals quickly, hon.
I know EXACTLY what you mean about September! I get all organized, too. And then by November, I'm usually in a real state again.

Schatzi, I'm glad you had a relaxing day yesterday... you really needed that. You take it easy, hear me? You don't need to do everything at once.

I'm off to see my psychi for my weekly, it's-all-about-Ellis session.
Then we're off to the cottage for a couple of days... I'll see you when I get back... love and hugs to all...
  • Pearshape, you and I always post at the same time.
That class sounds pretty bizarre. Here's to a great year for you!!
  • Good morning Chicks!

I hope all are having a good start for the day. I am starting phase 1 again today. (thanks to a lot of indiscretions over my friend's visit and a child's birthday party this weekend. ). I should have started this weekend, but I was too lazy. I find I do much better during the week b/c of a regular schedule. I have my menu and shopping list worked out for this week. I did learn that we are going to go out tonight. I will stay OP all day today and hope that there are some suitable choices for dinner tonight.

Gotta get to work! I missed a lot last week.
  • Good morning, gals! I'm working from home today in hopes that I can make it to the Cub Scout rally at the elementary school this afternoon. I'm covering for my team leader today so if anything comes up, I'll have to deal with it and miss the rally. I spent the weekend making up two large displays of pictures from scouting to show the kids what we do. I took pictures, blew them up on the computer and printed them on photo paper. I gave them to my den leader to bring since I'm not positive I'll make it.

Saturday was orientation for Wood Badge training. I have my list of things I will need and now need to buy hiking boots and get them broken in before we go camping in a month. And I need to make sure that my backpack will hold everything I will need for three days of camping!

    Morning, Ruth and Schatzi!

    Have fun with school, pearshape!

Sorry about the arm, Little Chick. It sounds painful.

Ellis - Have a great trip!

djett - I have a harder time on the weekends too. But so far the cravings have not come back so I just stay on phase 2.
  • Good day to you all,
It has been a while ....Things are ok for me... I sold my house in Greenfield, and I will be starting a job in Liverpool Sept. 4th, that is only 3 min. from my house instead of 33. I have lost a few pounds and seem to be ok with where I am at.
well I will check back to see what everyone is doing
    love Tazcat
  • Mornin' Ya'll!! Coffee has gone down and boys are playing on the floor and watching Dora so I thought I'd snatch the opportunity to check in while it's quiet.

Ruth -- Even though I would love to have a dog or two I am reminded by your post that early mornin' walkies are required. Along with mid-day walkies, afternoon walkies, evenin' walkies... Until the kids are All potty trained I think I'll stick with the 3 kitties we have and live vicariously through other dog lovers . Hope ya'll had a great walk this morning!!

LC-- Ouch! Sorry to hear about your booboos. I hope that the soreness workd itself out quickly. School -- organized?? What is that? A foreign term in our house . Our Julia started 1 st grade last week and so far so good. I still get the icky tummy every sunday night when getting her things together that I used to have as a child. She seems to enjoy school more than I did though. Hopefully I will be able to finish my degree in the next year or so. I've gotta put a cap on that 5 years of college .

Schatzi- Hope the coffee and Advil do the trick this morning! It's usually how I start my morning out and for a few hours it definitely does me some good.. Without them I am a zombie with very sore feet I hope your day goes smoothly!

Pearshape-- Have a great time at the fair! Always a great place for people watching . Let us know if you see anyone particularly interesting.

Ellis-- Have a great few days away!

Dana -- I know what you mean about the week being easier to stay op. Even though my daily schedule stays pretty much the same it always seems more challenging on the weekend. I was lamost thrown off track at my MIL's house yesterday but I held strong and by the end of the meal my in laws finally understood that we were really back on plan. the dessert she had mentioned buying earlier in the day never appeared . Yay! Anyway -- have a great week Dana!!

Barbara-- I have a Cub Scout question -- how old are the boys when they first join? My DH was a scout up until he went to college and I know he would someday like our boys to be scouts. I am clueless on the details though.
I hope you get to make it to the meeting this afternoon!!

Tazcat -- congrats on the sale of your house! It's awesome to be so close to your work. In college I was able to walk to work from my apartment and I loved it. I miss that alone time sometimes but my work is at home now so I can't complain . Ha

Me -- I managed to stay completely OP until last night when I went to Walmart. I had a rough weekend with DH and by last night I was in major chocolate craving mode. It also didn't help that the crowd at walmart was not a friendly one and the store was torn up. It looked like a hurricane had gone through there! Anyway, I got a small bag of dark choc peanut m&m's and I had about 10 of them. I was happy that that was all I had and that I was able to just toss the rest in our garbage can when I got home. Back on track today though .

Hope everone has a good day, has at least one giggle, one belly laugh, and can have a smile at something positive today!!
  • Godd morning everyone!! I was missing for a few days...it's been a little busy around here...hopefully this week will be more "NORMAL". I have to clean this place up & go to work later...ugh! Have a great day everyone!!
  • Ellis~~Have a wonderfully relaxing time at the cottage. About your stainless steel appliances: I use microfiber cloths and they are a godsend. I get them cheap at WalMart in the auto section.

Artemis~~We started our kitchen remodel the same time that Ellis did and we still have things to complete (crown mold on the cabinet tops and ceiling, and tile backsplash which I hope to start this week). My DH is a carpenter , which is why it's taking so long~LOL. I know well what you mean about all the dust but it is so worth it.

Schatzi~~Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words about Kasey. I'm trying to attach a pic of Kasey, her urn and yard plaque...

  • sweet tea - Most Cub Scout Packs have a Tiger den. A few don't start until Wolf. Tiger is kids in the first grade, Wolf is second grade, Bear is third and then there are two years of Webelos (stands for We'll be Loyal Scouts) which would be grades 4 and 5. Then they move up to Boy Scouts. In our area, most elementary schools have their own pack and they have a School Night for Scouting which is a big signup even during the second or third week of school. We do a rally for the kids at the end of one school day (today) and then the parents show up with the kids for the signup on the same evening or the following evening. Many churches also have Cub Scout packs.
  • Thank you for the info Barbara! I never had a clear understanding of the levels/infastructure. I know we can't wait to get the boys involved when they are old enough. It was such a great xperience for DH. We've still got a few years though...
  • Happy Monday All!

Just a quick note to say "Hi" to everyone today. I am covering for another gal today and tomorrow, doing two jobs can keep you more than busy! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Nothing to report on my end. The scale didn't move from last week, but I won't get discouraged!
