I was dxd with PCO in 1999, now on top of that I have IR. What I would like to know is for those who are IR, what type of eating plans, meds, etc., have helped you lose weight and help with your insulin? I'm an eager beaver trying to learn all I can about this condition. I go for my appt with my endo on Aug 29. I plan to have 100+ questions for her
. I want to know all I can and find support and ways to combat this. I want to start a family w/i the next year and I don't want this or PCO to be a hinderence! Thanks in advanced for all help, suggestions, advice and prayers. Oh yeah, i'm doing the south beach diet...do you guys think I should continue? I've heard of an Insulin Resistance diet! all help is welcomed! Thanks,
Sunkissed

I'm sorry you received bad news, but it's good that you actually know what the problem is so you can deal with it. If you are happy with your weight loss progress on the South Beach Diet, you may want to continue it and see how it goes, at least for the next two weeks until your appointment. I've heard good things from people with PCOS/IR that follow South Beach. It if doesn't work, then you might consult your physician for advice on something more agressive. Not everyone needs to take that step, though.
