  • Hi there!

I just registered with 3FC yesterday, and I thought I should introduce myself. I've already posted my bio in the Bio thread, but briefly:

I'm in my mid-30's, very overweight (5'3" and 257 lbs) and have been for years. I haven't started the SBD yet, but I will be in a matter of days. I'm just waiting for an order of custom-smoked breakfast beef to finish and be ready to pick up - I don't care for eggs, and DH can't eat pork (or shellfish, for that matter), so we are a little limited on breakfast foods that have no starch/sugar. Plus I wanted a little time after I finished reading the book (just finished it last week) to get some additional recipes gathered and make up a meal plan.

I found the 3FCOAD website while looking for SBD Phase 1 recipes. It kept turning up in searches over and over, so I came, I saw, I liked, I registered. That's pretty much it in a nutshell!

I'm hoping to get down to a more reasonable size for my height, but what I want more than anything is to feel healthier and have more energy, as well as to be a good example for my little boy. I never thought that I ate too badly - until I read the SBD book! Now I know how much harm I have been doing myself.

Wish me luck! And luck to all of you!
  • Good for you! It is so much easier than you think, just make sure to get things like sugar free popcicles to help with that craving at night. You will be shocked how fast the pounds melt off!
  • Welcome aboard Heather! Looks like you're well prepared. I started at about the same place as you. Good to have you on the beach!
  • Hi Heather Glad you decided to join us.
  • Beach Badge Awarded to Heather WELCOME HEATHER !!
...MAKE R O O M ..... EVERYONE GRAB YOUR TOWEL AND RrrrrrOOOOOLLL OVER!!
  • Hey Heather! Welcome aboard! Something (as mentioned above) to remember: sugar free fudgesicles and popsicles. The SF fudgesicles are my chocolate fix at night. I can't do Phase 1 without them. Also, make sure you get your water. You may feel like your brain is floating around in your head, but it REALLY helps.

Just don't do like I do and drink 20 oz of tea right before bed. I'm going to be up all night again!

    Take care and good luck!

Thanks, I don't know if I'll need them yet or not. I don't have much of a sweet tooth - just the occasional craving, usually for something creamy (like ice cream!) or baked goods (like cookies). I'm more of a bread and corn person! I'll keep it in mind though - QFC is only about 5 minutes away, and they are open 24 hours a day!

LOL! No, I am a regular tea drinker (hot or iced, usually no sugar, no milk), so I know - no tea after 6 pm or so if I want to sleep!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I'm looking forward to participating!
