HI I am Karen. My husband is US active duty Air Force and we are stationed in the UK (near Oxford) for 14 more months. Has anyone has WLS in the UK and who did you use? I have an appt with my doctor for a referral off base. I hope my insurance approves it. Please any advise form someone military and in the UK would be great. Please anyone who else with suggestions for a new comer to the WLS, please advice!! Thanks

I don't know what the prevailing attitude towards WLS is on 3FC, but I think there haven't been enough studies to prove it doesn't compromise your health and is more effective than traditional methods. I've done quite a bit of research on it as I once considered going down that road myself, and found way too many personal accounts of people who have undergone it and suffered dramatically or even died. Not worth the risk to me.

Just my opinion.

Hi Karen there is a whole section on the forum for WLS I don't know of anyone in the UK here who has done it sorry. There may be some people lurking with some words of wisdom though.
