  • Looking good Naked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Kyemom...you go girl!!! I would have to agree, although, I personally have a ways to go before I will be looking good naked!!!

When I was on p1, I wasnt going to weigh myself until I had finished 1 week. Then I was reading some posts and someone had weighed in on day 2 or 3 and they were down like 5 pounds so I weighed myself on day 4 and was down if I remember correctly, 4 pounds!! That kept me motivated, I had never lost 4 pounds in that short of time before!!

Since I have moved on to p2, the weight is SLOWLY coming off but I have also been told that the slower you lose the weight, the longer it will stay off!!
I am trying to be patient!!

What helps me too is that people keep telling me that I look like I've lost weight, I dont necessarily see it when I look in the mirror but my clothes are fitting loser so something good is happening!!

    Good luck
  • In phase 1 what kept me motivated was that every day I lost a little bit more of my cravings...and I was not hungry!!
Now...today...I had to go to the bathroom...loosened my belt...and pulled down my pants..I thought sheesh...and realized with holding my backpack, cell phone and other stuff I hadn't unzipped or snapped them!!
That is my new motivation today!!
I lost 10 lbs in two weeks prior to starting south beach by counting calories and being hungry...this is so much better!
Phase 2 is really slow weight loss wise for me, but I am seeing inches falling away slowly!!!
  • Just seeing quick results and feeling better ....I saw improvments in everything from my face to my nails...I just knew that I was healthy..and just the fact that I lost 11 pounds from cutting out SUGAR and CRAP...is crazy...I had to eat all that crap to sustain that weight....i feel so much better w/o it!

  • I had developed high blood pressure and had bad arthritis pain in my knees which made it difficult to walk at 40 years old! I was too young to have these "old people" diseases!

The doctor was quitting her practice to be a stay-at-home mom and held nothing back when she talked to me about it. She told me "with your weight, we'll be replacing your knees by the time you are 50, if you haven't had a stroke by then. Have you seen people recovering from a stroke? High blood pressure is not to be taken lightly!"

So, I'm shaking in my boots and went to the dietician who told me that all diets work, it's a matter of finding one that you like and will stick with for the rest of your life. It's not a matter of losing the weight and going off the diet. "You will change your eating habits and stick with it permently. And go for a walk when you get home."

I checked around, heard about the good carbs good fats diet that was healthy and gave it a try. Because I had the fear of early death and/or disability, I had no problems sticking with phase 1 the first time.

But, now that my knees don't bother me and my blood pressure is down I have a really hard time doing Phase 1 for longer then a day or 2.

  • My Motivation
I get on the scale every morning. Today, the beginning of my 3rd day, I am down 3 pounds. That keeps me motivated.

I am a better person when I work out. I train 2x per week for 1/2 hour sessions with a trainer and then do cardio 2 more times per week, usually. Becuase I have a date with a trainer, I get there ALWAYS. That might cost a lot more, but I'm worth it! I feel so much better when I work-out.

I can do this. It is a matter of self-control. When I passed by the free cookies at the bakery yesterday, I was very proud of myself. I know I've lost control when I start eating those freebies.

The taste of something fattening is equal to the feeling of pride when I choose not to eat it. I just have to remember that.
