Basic info?

  • This is all very interesting to me. I think I'll go buy the book tonight, but was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are any limits to the foods you eat? Or is it an "eat until satisfied" type program. I am a WW person, have been doing Core (loosely) for several months. This seems to be very similar to the foods on WW Core, basic whole and unprocessed foods.

    Thanks for any help!
  • Hi Kathy! There are a few things on Sugarubusters that are not allowed, like white flour, white sugar, white rice, pineapple, beets, white potatoes and corn. These all cause a big insulin response, so are not allowed. The diet is based on the Glycemic Index, which measures how much different foods raise blood sugar levels. The only thing you need to count is starches, really. We have a few big losers on Sugarbusters, and a good group who would be happy to answer any questions you might have. You will find most of us over in the weekly support thread. Here is a link to the thread:

And to the forum: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=86 just in case you see this next week or something!

  • Thanks very much for the reply! I'll go check you out now!
  • Question for Monet from Newbie
Hi, I am also a previous WW member who used these boards for tremendous help in the past. My sister lost a lot of weight on SB in the last few years, so I am just wading into the SB territory to see if it's for me. Although I've read the book, the thing I love to come to 3FC's for is food finds and suggestions. I know the gals on the weekly support boards are great, but if I'm just looking for food info it's a little tedious to read through 5 pages or so of friendly updates to see the answers. My question is why you gals don't encourage people to post program questions and ideas on these info boards instead of always directing them to the weekly board? Seems there is a need for both here.
    TIA
  • Hi there! I think the idea of having an information forum is great, but realistically, the group on Sugarbusters is not very large. Most of them post in the weekly support area, and this information area is not very busy. As you can tell from dates, the posting is sparse. Feel free to PM me if you have questions and don't want to go through the weekly board area looking for responses. If I don't have the answers, I will do my best to find them for you.
