  • Good morning! And guess what will be happening five months from today?

Did you all hear the big rigs pulling out during the night? They packed up the midway after midnight and it's still rolling out to go to the next Fair. The Girls are going nuts of course to see and hear these monster trucks on their road!

I survived the Fair with just a few bad food choices. I had one light beer and one Mike's Hard Lemonade over the four days and had a few other deviations. It was with fear and trepidation that I approached the evil scale this morning but I stayed the same so my ticker is still honest! Whew!

Busy day ahead as I am going to return stuff to town like the Macdonalds' juice barrel and the radios to Brockville. This afternoon I'll take Lucy in for more bloodwork and also visit Harry.

    What's happening around your umbrella?
  • Good morning, Ruth! I woke up wayyyyy to early this morning. For some reason I just couldn't get myself back to sleep no matter what. So I gave in, put on a pot, and got on the beach. I think I'll use this time to go for a nice cool walk when the sun comes up. It's been so hot here lately!! Hope everyone has a great day today!
  • It was those Fair rigs pulling out that kept you awake, pearshape! Pass me a mug of that coffee, OK?
    14 pounds this month!
    Have a super day!
  • It's a Mahvalous Monday all! Took yesterday off, stayed mostly in bed reading.. my back was just too sore to do anything else...and if I saw another cardboard box I think I woulda tore my hair out! AnyHoo, back to it today... Hopefully today we sign the contract... The buyer's attorney has been draggin his feet, and DH had to get gruff with ours on Friday to light a fire under their hineys! We selected the professional moving company,so have to call them today to finalize the plans...Only have the attic to empty out - move it to the garage, and pack up clothes, and other minor stuff...so progress is good!
alrighty, need my coffee, take the girls for their walk and get on with the day!
    Have a GREAAAAAAAAAAT DAAAAAAAAY ALL!
  • Good Morning

Ruth, thanks for reminding us its only 5 months to Christmas I cant believe where the year has gone!

Schatzi, good luck with the move, sounds like you are doing great!

Pearshape, isnt it a treat sometimes to wake early and be able to just "be"?

Well I've eaten Oatmeal for breakfast - Day 1 of Phase 2 and it tasted absolutely delicious. Never thought I'd love Oatmeal but it was so good. Its gone from hot and humid to cool and breeezy here, so Oatmeal was a good choice. My fingers are actually quite cold as I'm typing.

I'm just about to go and do my Upper Body weights workout. I do it at home, too much hassle to get to a gym from where I live, although I do still belong to the gym _ note to self, cancel subscription.

Later today I'm de-cluttering. I just started a household organization type thing called Flylady. I've had the book for two years but never actually DONE it, so now I'm working on it.

Have a great day on the Beach all of you.
  • Morning Beach Babes!! Hope everyone had a beachy weekend. I did & stayed OP, too!! We even took the kids to the movies...and I had nothing to eat there...We went to unch before, and I had a salad with Salmon on top of it...so, I was very full & happy. I am gona check out the posts I missed. Have a great cup or two of coffee...I will be back!!
  • Hey Artemis.. same (sort of) username ... fancy that

Well second day of phase 1 is done.. I am finding it much easier the second (or third even) time around... drinking the water really help sand I am surprised at how my carb cravings just disappear... so lovely....

I have to confess to stress eating a few too many nuts tonight... a friend is in labour giving birth and we are very anxious to hear news... but I know she is in a wonderfully supportive environment at home.. so is well taken care of!!!

University starts tomorrow, so I had best be off to bed.

Have a great day on the beach!
  • Good morning!

Sipping on my cup of java as I type. Wouldn't it be great to be sitting together somewhere with a cup of coffee??

Ruth Wow- didn't realize Christmas was only 5 months away. We seem to tame it down a bit every year and really only focus on the kids. Just the way I think it should be in my opinion.

Pear Have you lost 14 lbs this month?? That is fantastico! I am not sure I will be making my goal of 5, but will be pleased if the scale is down. I will use this Saturday's WW weigh in as my official weight.

    Artemis and Artemis2- Good morning!

Schatzi Hope you enjoyed your day of rest. I am soooo jealous! I am so out of shape that my hamstring muscles are sore from bending over pulling weeds. How pitiful is that??

Kyemom Nothing feels better than sticking with your program in situations like that. WTG!!

Me- Okay weekend here. I actually was a sobbing, hormonal wreck all weekend as I made the decision to quit nursing the baby. A lot of guilt in that decision and then the while process of quitting. DH worked all weekend, so wasn't here to be super supportive. Thank goodness my mom is close as I packed the girls up and spent Saturday afternoon and evening at her house. Felt better yesterday and went to a cookout/swim get together. Very fun and relaxing. Said "screw it" to the fact that I look like crap in my bathing suit and got in to swim with my older DD. (As much as the baby DD would let me!) Stayed OP which made me feel stronger and more pulled together!

Have a good Monday my friends! This is my last Monday before I return to the world of working moms. (Outside of the home that is! I have worked my a$$ of this summer being home! )
  • Good morning all This is such a busy board I come several times a day which is nice.I enjoy hearing how all are doing. I have had a very rough week. Not felt well and high waters at the beach.Trying to get back on track.Feel well enough to go in pool and exercise today so that is great. Five months to Christmas The year is just flying by. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. Health has slowed down by decorating activities. But I have grand daughters now that are big enough to do things. My fifteen year old and 12 year old did 95% of all decorating last year. They thought it was a big deal to do it and I was just grateful that they did it. I do enjoy christmas lights. Grandchildren are wonderful.I know most of you are too young for grandchildren but they make having children even more special
Hope all have a great day.Sun is shining brightly here so we are in for another hot day Stay cool where ever you are!!!!
  • Good Morning ChickaDEES!
I'm sitting here sipping nice hot cup o' joe...and nearly spewed it out when I realized THERE'S ONLY 5 MONTHS 'TIL CHRISTMAS!!!
I've said and said that I'm gonna start shopping earlier, but it never happens!
That also means that this year is half gone....since new years day....I've lost 31 lbs and several sizes!!

Did y'all notice my avatar change? That's my precious little "puh" Gidget....Puh is her nickname...my 2nd dd started that one. and she answers to either name.

    Pear...WTG...losing 14 lbs last month!!!!! That's incredible.

well my 14 yo dd...."started" this weekend...so I now offically live in the House of Estrogen! My DS and DH just sit quietly and try not to make waves with the 3 teen age girls and myself!

I had some shocking news this weekend....my dd (the 14 yo)..took gymnastics for 7 years...she ended up as a Level 7 state champ. anyway, the guy that was her coach got arrested this past weekend for Sexual Abuse!
It apparently started right after we started there and continued for several years. The 3 girls that are pressing charges are all adults now, but it all happened when they were 11 & 12. SICKO!!! I am freakin out! I knew this guy! I went to school with him.
My DD said that he did make her uncomfortable sometimes, but only by asking her what color underwear she was wearing! GRRrrrrrr. Usually in those leotards they don't wear any underwear. Now I'm really glad she quit last year! This is just INSANE!!!!!
Well, there's my venting for the day!
Now I'm gonna head to the gym and have a go at the weight machines!
  • Good Morning Chicas

Well, today was official WID for me and I was a little nervous because I received a visit from Aunt Flo yesterday. I couldn’t believe it – NO GAIN. Not only am I happy with not gaining with the onset of TTOM, but I’m ecstatic that I didn’t have any telltale symptoms either…no crankiness, no emotional breakdowns…nothing! That’s truly a miracle with my track record. I’m only down 1 pound from last WID but, considering the circumstances, I’m totally happy with that.

Artemis – I haven’t eaten breakfast yet…I’m totally unprepared to add anything to my phase I foods…guess I need to go shopping this morning! I’m starting phase II today also, taking my 8 pound loss and moving forward.

Kyemom – Way to go staying OP all weekend!

Kiko – I’m glad you let yourself have fun in the pool this weekend! Good luck with going back to work! I’ll bet you even miss it

It’s official…I’m becoming addicted to exercise. I started posting on the July Exercise Challenge thread on the 14th with a goal of 675 minutes for the remainder of the month…and I’ve already exceeded that! Wow, that feels great!

Hope you all have a great Monday!
  • WOW...I am excited. The building that I work in got bought 2 weeks ago by another management company. They put in a work out room this weekend. Now, I can work out at lunch, and not feel like I am taking my kids from one day, and putting them into another for me to work out!!! I am so psyched!! Maybe I will get addicted like Val!!
  • Hi y'all.....Not a great weekend for me....check my FitDay entry for more info...

  • Morning chicks!

I just got back from Body Pump class at the gym. It wasn't as difficult for me as it was last week when I started, even though I upped my weight. I love working out in the mornings, but I'll miss it once I go back to work in two weeks. I'll really have to make sure I make time for myself to work out after school.

Well, it took all week, but I am *finally* down to 175. I guess I hit a plateau, so it took forever to get that extra pound off! I'm starting P2 today and I'm going to have a sandwich on a whole wheat pita for lunch every day this week and see how it goes. Following a tip from the board (I think it was pearshape?), I also went and bought some FiberChoice so I can up my fiber intake and slow the carbs. I just hope it doesn't make me too bloated or gassy.

I really need to eat more veggies! I eat a salad and veggie at dinner and celery w/cheese or peanut butter for a snack, but it's hard to get them in at breakfast and lunch for some reason. Any suggestions?
  • Morning ladies-

I have to get to exercising again. My food choices the past 3 days have been poor and will be poorer (LOL) tomorrow. At least I am chosing whole grains. No sugar today either (but I did have a real muffing and a bunch of other delicacies at brunch yesterday, including orange juice!)

So my foot hurts but my legs are starting that atrophy feeling again. I have to get out there and at least walk. I dreamt last night that I started a jogging regime. I was embarrased because not only did the Girls (and not Ruthie's girls) flop around too much but at first I could only run down the block.

But I kept at it and in a week jogged about .5 miles.

Maybe it's time to make this dream a reality???
