Another newbie

  • Hi all,

    It's another newbie. I've just found this site and realisticly, I need to lose about 70 pounds. It's much harder for me now that I'm married, because my husband isn't very motivated to lose weight with me. As an overweight person, I know just about everything there is to know about weight loss, except how to stay motivated and be disciplined! I know what I should be eating but not how to maneuver my food choices into our family eating habits, since my husband does the majority of the cooking. I am mainly looking for some continual support and motivation from anyone else that is or has been where I am.

    A little background: I exercise sporadically due to a damaged inner ear canal that makes me experience vertigo from time to time. I leave the house at 7am and don't get home until about 6:15pm at which time we eat dinner. I then spend the rest of the evening: cleaning the kitchen, packing lunches, doing laundry or working in the garden. On an up note, my office does have a gym that I can use.

    Whatever inspiration I can get would be greatly appreciate.

  • I know how it is, I've recently had a corneal transplant due to corneal melts from laser surgery for over 3 years now. My depth perception is terrible so it's pretty hard for me to excersise for a long time, I'd focus on the video and get a headache or end up running into things >.< lol. It's getting beter though, 14 more stitches to go!/ I'm also married and he isn't much for diets or excersise heh. I need to lose about 50/60 pounds.

    I know if I stick to it I'll be happy in the end, but I love food and I'm a big emotional eater :/ heh.

    I'm 36, soon to be 37 and although I have two step-daughters, I would love to have a child myself, but I want to lose weight before I get pregnant, so I can be as healthy as I can.
  • I just started today , I'm 22, married with no children, planning on finishing university first and getting myself settled down before having kids. I'm heading to the Gym with my friend now, hopefully gonna workout for a bit.
    I've still got to go to the grocery store and grab some healthy food >.< my fridge is filled with cookies and pizza bagle bites lol.

    Gonna start my diet in a strict way tonight . Just gotta ignore all the cookies in my fridge lol........
