I'm new to this forum and new to the SBD. I read the Monday thread and got such a kick out of your posts. I laughed and laughed. Y'all are a hoot! I thought I'd jump in this morning and introduce myself.

My name is Leslie. I'm 42 and live in Georgia. I have 2 daughters ages 11 and 14 and 2 step-daughters also 11 and 14. We have custody of everyone, so our home is an estrogen-filled drama-filled circus most days. I wouldn't trade it for ANYthing! My husband and I just started the SBD yesterday. I'm not trying to lose weight, just trying to eat more healthfully. (Do y'all let bad-eating skinny chicks hang out here, too?) My husband lost 110 pounds seven years ago by eating smaller portions, low-fat and exercising. Over the last 18 months about 15-20 lbs has crept back on. He wants to get rid of it before it turns into the whole 110 he lost. He's VERY motivated and I'm trying to help him out by joining him and improving how our whole family eats.

I'm been reading the recipes section, and various threads. Y'all have really inspired me with the incredible amolunts of weight you've lost. The willpower you show and the support you give and get from this group is awesome. You've motivated me to take better care of myself. In fact, I'm going to exercise right now!

Good morning! <<<yawn>>> Tired. Toddler woke me up at 4:00am (must be a phase-been going on for 4 nights now). My adorable little 17.5mo son is my saboteur! The little stinker was straddling my lap last night and trying to shove pb&cheese crackers into my mouth-earlier in the day it was a donut-sheesh! He thinks it's sooo funny to see Mommy turning her head away-but I did it! Today is day 4 OP-no weight loss as of yet (which is fine as it's almost that TOM).Feeling great-no cravings (even with a donut shoved up my nose )

Off to take my entrance test and have someone interviewing me for my doula services later on. Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm a grump this morning. The dogs were restless last night thanks to the T storms that came rumbling thru, so I didn't get much quality (or quantity) sleep.

Leslie, Welcome to the Beach! Congrats to your dh on his loss! That's wonderful that he's kept it off and is motivated to keep it off. Kudos to you for being so supportive.

Jess, you are to be applauded for being strong when literally having food shoved in your face. I could resist the pretzels, but I don't know about the donut, unless it was all slobbery!

Quickie for me. Lots to do at work today! DH has gone from plumber to electrician! WooHoo! He finally figured out that the bathroom plug and the bedroom light are on the same whatever and that the plug had jumped in the bathroom. He said if you would have used your hair dryer yesterday you would have figured it out! Runnin behind yesterday as well and no time to dry! haha Kind of like today! YIKES!

Checking in late this morning although I was up and in here shortly after five. It looks like most of us had a disturbed night from furbabies and skinbabies. My two decided do wolf imitations at 3:30 this morning! If the wolves in the bush howl, they feel they have to join in! Idiot dogs!

Ellis, doze away. It's another scorcher already! Do you think my AC firm will call re an estimate today? Or are they waiting until October when I have the woodstove going?

Mamacita, after last weeks disastrous blood letting with the Three Vampires, I'm reluctant to go to the lab for a real sample. I was supposed to go this morning but it's too darn hot. I wish we lived closer because I'd be on your doorstep!

Jeez, Bamie! What does he mean you'd have figured it out? Is he suggesting electrocution? Watch him!

Last night I was at my sister's place for dinner and had a great time. My cousin, her DH and two 15 year old boys were there and there was a laugh a minute. My stomach muscles hurt this morning! It was a great BBQ - skewers of pork and chicken with lots of lovely grilled veggies so I managed to stay pretty much OP. My ticker is really lying at the moment but that will change. Heat makes me hold water but ....

This morning I go to Harry's place to meet with case worker #7! They have already done an intellectual evaluation of my poor guy but not with me there. He is a really good liar and how the **** do they know his answers were true! Asking why his mother hasn't visited would be a good clue but... This morning we start over.

This afternoon, I intend to do a few jobs around the joint but also relax on the front porch after I sweep it and water the plants.

Morning Chicks...I had the most vivid dream about ice cream last night. I am not even a huge ice cream fan...What is going on in my mind??? Do you think there is something I am missing in my diet (other than the bad stuff) ? also, just wanted to say thanks for all the help and advice thusfar. You guys are great. Very busy this week and now I had the chance to get on the computer.I'm trying to get my basement done,by getting rid of all the junk as I can set up a mini gym in our basement. Its taking more time that I expected.

My rice/chicken/broccoli in the crockpot finally cooked yesterday, and it was pretty yummy. But I've discovered I have more money that I thought, so I'm going to pick up a roasted chicken for tonight (thanks, Schatzi). That was enough cooking for ONE week!

Angel, I don't know what it is with cops. You want to try being in a courtroom full of them. The testosterone in there is so thick, you can barely see through it. I know they're not all nasty, but there are a lot that are.
