Howdy!

  • Just want to pop in and introduce myself. I'm Chrissey, 37, currently living in Seattle, Washington USA (originally from West Texas). I've been married to Brent for almost 9 years. We have one daughter (Emmie) who is three and a half. Emmie was adopted at birth.

At the age of 15, I had to have a hysterectomy. Up to that point, I didn't have a weight problem. After the surgery, my doctor put me on hormone replacement therapy and, later, anti-depressants. I went from weighing 118 to my current weight of 245. Nothing I do seems to matter. And, when I talked to my doctor about this, he basically said I was nuts for blaming the meds on weight gain.

So, here I am. I don't want to weigh this much anymore. I'd like to be down to about 140. This web site is like an oasis in the desert. I'm very excited about the level of support that is shown here. I can't wait to be a part of it all!!!
  • Hi Chrissy! Oh don't you listen to your doctor. You'll find a mountain of women that have had weight gain due to hormonal problems and medications. I'm one of them! Now you just have to find what works for you to get the weight off. And you WILL find it.
  • Hey there Chrissey... I'm in Seattle too and would to buddy up with you if you still are looking for a buddy!.. I was just over 200 pounds when I joined WW last June and have since made it down to 155, trying to get to 140...
