  • Here we go....

    Our aim is to:

    1. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day for the month of July

    2. Support/Motivate each other

    3. Feel empowered by exercise!!!!

Post your exercise daily. Any deliberate exercise counts, meaning don't include every day activities like walking to work, but post your activity for this challenge. I'll try to post 'roll call' regularly. Every little helps, so post even if you only got in 10 minutes! Pat yourself on the back and KEEP GOING! Good luck everybody and Happy Exercising!

Looking Forward to Moving with you Chickies!!
  • Hi ladies,

Today is Friday July 1st. I swam for 60 mintes today. I will be gone Saturday through Monday the 4th sooo, if someone else wants to do roll call they can or I will update it when I get back after my camping trip. Blessings to you all and I am looking forward to getting a bit closer to our goals this month. Thanks for joining me in this journey.
    Blessings,
    Dogpal
  • Okay, I'm jumping in with both feet!

Dogpal, thanks for making this thread. It really helps me be accountable for my exercise. Enjoy the woods!
  • Happy super Friday. YEAHHH.

Ok I have no idea what it is I'm doing, but here goes. Today I went swimming for 1 hour 15 min. I don't really SWIM persay. I do walking, joging for 25 min solid, and stretching exercises in the water. I move continuosly . I wont be going on the weekends, but I will do something "ON PURPOSE".

Thanks for starting this up girl friend. It feels good to have a place to whine and boast about the dreaded "E" word.

    Great success to us all.

    Enjoy the sweat.
  • Friday, July 1 - My son and I met a girl friend of mine and her grandson and went to a near by part and walked the mile and a half walking path they have. It cuts into some woods so I won't go there by myself, or at dusk, but I love it! Then my son and I played badminton in the back yard for 30 minutes!
  • July 1st
I got my 30 minutes in today times two!!!

I powered walked 3 miles and warmed up/cooled down 1 mile in 60 minutes!

I have a busy day tomorrow so I'll probably only get 2 miles in.

    I'll see you all tomorrow!!
  • HI!!

Good job everybody! OK....I pulled weeds for 30 minutes today!! Then my neighbor saw me outside and brought me over some fresh baked cookies!! I didn't have ONE!!! There were others around so I just "shared".

    Great thread!

Anybody doing the Glycemic Index Diet????

Have a happy body moving day!

    Sue
  • Friday 1 July 2005 - I went on a nice, quick-paced 40 minute walk! I can't believe how fast I can walk now!

    Congrats everyone!
  • Quote: HI!!

Anybody doing the Glycemic Index Diet????

    Sue
Taking 2 days off my regular regime to rest my hematoma [bike pedal attack injury ]. Instead I did some heavy lifting and moving and cleaning out cupboards in my office. I worked up a sweat so I know I'm on target. Took me about 40 minutes.

I do BFFM which supports GI. I try to stay in the ball park for GI but when I do my weights I eat high sugar content foods on purpose to feed my muscles. Such as bananas.
  • Okay I am part of this...

On the 1st I took the dog for a walk around the field, we where out for 40 mins.

Today on the 2nd, I have walked around town and just come back from a 20 mins walk with the dog!
  • (Leann I roughly follow the GI Diet - I say roughly because I eat with a GI awareness, but I do eat sugar, bananas, etc.)
  • July 2nd
I didn't actually do any exercise today but I've been REALLY busy.

I was busy at work today (I'm a hairstylist) so I was on my feet and constantly moving all morning. Then tomorrow is my daughter's birthday and we sent her away for the day and tore her room apart and repainted it, put a border up and have been hauling stuff back in. Lots of up, down, up, down and plenty of sweat!

    I still have a few hours....maybe I sneak in a couple miles!

Congrats on everyone elses' first day!!!
  • July 3rd & 4th
I haven't had much time to do anything these last couple of days - yesterday was my daughers birthday - she turned 4. We completely madeover her room top to bottom in one day - there was some calories burned! I'll get back on track later on this evening! Have a safe Independence Day to all!
  • Hi Ladies,

Well, I survived the woods, lol. It was sooooooo relaxing and fun. Happy 4th of July I swam every day that I was camping for more than an hour. I also used my arms quite a bit fishing for trout (caught 6 total) And, drumroll please..... I walked a bunch. It took me a long time because I am A) not used to it, B) quite out of shape out of the water, C) I have asthma pretty badly and the campfires were killing me and finally D) the Altitude was over 5000 feet. But, I did it. Here is the updated roll call for the first 4 days of July! If I missed anyone please let me know and I will update. I am so happy and poud to have you all with me on this journey. Lets keep moving.

Sunday, July 3 - (My walk and badminton got rained out ), but we did walk around the mall for about an hour.

Monday, July 4 - Got up and did my 45 minute walk in the rain!! I knew we would be gone last night and I wouldn't get to walk, so I was determined to walk and did it in the rain!!!
