Interesting weight-loss story

  • This story addresses so many topics we've discussed here in the past, including WLS, genetic related obesity, fast food addiction and whether you should give up ALL your former "bad" foods. I think what amazes me the most is how someone his size managed to live to 40 while smoking! I just hope that when he does quit it doesn't have the effect it did on me (BIG weight gain).

I think this man's story is fascinating and I truly hope he continues with his success! I hope there's an update (I'd love to see the documentary, too).

  • Oh wow. I think he is doing awesome. I couldn't imagine weighing that much.
  • Incredible story and an example of how WLS can be a lifesaver! I too hope he continues to do well and would like to read updates.
  • I hope he goes all the way. It seems that he has the mind set of not really wanting to change his food habits. That's really dangerours. I know what they are talking about when the body says feed me. However you can teach your body to want better things. The cravings leave if you stay away from that food for awhile. It took me a while to figure that one out though. So maybe he will come to the same conclusion in time.
  • Thanks for sharing that Jill. It was a great read.
