I am gonna lose it all this time...!!!!

  • Hey all....

I am 22 yrs old....with 25 pounds to lose. Lemme explain the title of this post....ever since i can remember i have been trying to lose weight....sheesh.....7 years....what a waste of time. I was 180...came down to 135...and then went up to 150 again. I feel like kicking myself ofcourse ......of all the people i should know...how time consuming and slow weight loss is...and i still allowed myself to gain all that weight again.

so ya......nowdays i am being really hard on myself....infact bordering on self-hatred. But i am an eternal optimist...i know i can do this again. Something i have said a million times...but i am hoping by writing in regularily at this forum will keep me motivated and hopefully i will make good friends along the way. BTW....i would love to buddy up .....and if somebody wants to leave me a nasty post for complaining too much and not getting off my *** to work out...by all means...do so.

    Juhi .

    P.S. (i was going through y'alls post......and wow....congrats on all the weight u have lost.... )

  • Hey there,

    Anyways.....just letting you know......

  • Portion control....the Key to fast weight loss
thanks lady duck....congrats on ur weight loss....may u lose many more

i read an article today on portion control........and how that could alone make you lose wight. the formula was (current weight * 150)-1000....the number that u get....eat that many calories for a two pound weight loss every week....

.....my number was 1250 calories a day...i know this formula works....'coz that was my intake when i lost weight in the past. Now i just need to practice self-control....and eat healthy ...sigh.....its really hard for me...i love food....especially after dieting the entire last year....i just wanna have big macs and pei wei for all meals....lol......just kidding...

my goal was next week....eat salad for one meal...and exercise for atleast an hour....ahan....baby steps to get to the main goal...

    ciao!
  • hmm to Juhi, i tried your formula and the number i get is lower than my basal metabolic rate and at that i'm not losing anything. plus, some people would get less than 1200 calories which we all know is unhealthy!
  • Thanks!

I'm doing ww flex, it's great. I can only have 24 points a day....which makes me really think about what i want to eat. I could consumer an entire bag of chips, or be fully full the entire day by eating smart.

Remember, not all healthy food has to taste "healthy" Adding spices and garlic and other wonderful things can really get you taste buds going without expanding your wasteline.

On another note, i work 5 or 6 days a week. Anyone else too tired after work to make it to the gym or walk home? I bike as often as I can, but sometimes i feel like my legs are just going to fall off. Any pointers??
  • msbeeverhausen .....I got the formula out of some magazine....u r right abt the fact that some individuals might get 1200 calories or less using the formual....and thats not health....but to be completely honest...the only way i have been able to lose weight by restricting calories..and the loss usually lasts....hmmm.....well...i guess different things work for different people.....

luckyduck....i usually have a small piece of fruit an hour before workout.....believe it or not....but that helps me walk home...without wanting to just fall down and rest on the pavement........will let u know.....if i think of something else

  • Welcome Juhi & luckyduck!

Just a note about cutting calories. If you do NOT eat enough, you will not lose weight. Make sure you research your weight loss options and pick the one that is best for you and your lifestyle. If you can, talk to your doctor about what they suggest.
