Newbee in need of buddy's Help!!!!!!!

    I am new to this forum and am looking for a buddy to help with my weight loss. I am currently at 180lbs and need to get down to 140. I haven't really exercised in about 4 years. I rode a bike the other day for 2 miles...boy was I winded! I have swelling in my left foot....nothing serious...but I have a tendency to retain fluid. I have lost 8 lbs and feeling much better, but I have a ways to go to reach my goal . To be honest I never really dieted much and I really don't know where to start. The 8lbs I lost was from this fad diet I tried for a week. I hear that you will gain all that back when you go off the diet.

    Menu's, tips, recipies, anything that would help would be appreciated!

    Sorry about your fluid problem. Sounds uncomfortable. When I retain I feel like a sausage wanting to burst out of my skin. I have not dont to well with my diet plans either. I have 30 lbs to lose, but would love to lose 35. I guess 1 would be a good start.

    Would be nice to have someone to keep tabs with. I work from home a lot and eating is VERY available.
  • Good to hear from you etalboy...Yes sure would be nice to keep tabs with someone in the same boat! I also work from home alot and I know what you mean about food availability! I joke alot about the sea food diet I have been on for the past four years.........I see food......I eat it!
  • Hi, I too need to lose, about 50 lbs. I'm doing WW from home. A friend copied her material and gave it to me to get started. There is also a fantastic WW cookbook that tells you how to prepare meals and how many points they are. This will help you get a feel for portion control. I've lost 8 pounds so far. Hope this helps.     It would be wonderful to have a buddy. I am looking to lose around 35 lbs. I don't know anything about WW except that it is a point system, however I don't know how many points I would be allowed in order to lose the weight I need to. I really don't have the time to go to meetings and or to join. Do you know how their point system works?

  • welcome to this site. I have also just started my diet last Saturday, I feel this webiste very encouraging and helpful. Once you get into a routine of working out it will get much easier. Good luck to you.
