Sushi recipes

  • Hi! Does anyone know any good nonfish sushi recipes? It does not matter what phase...
  • Hmm....I can think of Kappa Maki, which is just cuccumber rolled with sushi rice and seaweed. And also Philidelphia Maki which you can substitute the whitefish for cuccumber and use lite cream cheese instead of full fat. Avacado makes a great sushi addative to substitute for fish because it has a great texture, a little oily a little sweet like some fish. Umm..if I think of more I'll be sure to add them here.

Ah, if you Google "Vegetarian Sushi" you get some good links too.
  • At the Whole Foods I go to I sometimes get the brown rice veggie roll. It has shredded carrots, avocado and spinach (I think).
  • Do you already know how to make sushi rolls? And just need ideas for making them without fish? Here's a site that gives instructions:

You can use eggs, any vegetable-lightly steamed until it still has a little bite to it but not raw, mushrooms either dried that have soaked or fresh.

You can modify the recipes some, make a few with brown rice so you can enjoy a treat also.

    Have fun
