curious.....

  • has tops developed anything similar to ww core?
  • what is ww core?
  • weight watchers
  • From my understanding, TOPS does not provide you with an eating plan (like WW, LAWL, JC, etc.). TOPS is more of a support group than anything else. The members in my local chapter are doing a variety of diets--some are on South Beach, some do WW, some count calories, you name it! TOPS will provide information, tips, and advice, but they will not give you an actual plan to follow. Everyone just does what works for them, and TOPS is there to keep them motivated. That is my understanding, at least, since that's how all of the chapters I've belonged to seem to have worked.
  • TOPS number one priorty is to be a support group. And everyone is encouraged to do whatever works best for them and is a healthy sensible diet.
But actually TOPS does have a diet plan that each leader is suppose to talk about at lwast twice a year. Tops is just giving your anther healthy choice to think about.

From 6-16 post Quote from the new TOPS "The Choice is mine" book """TOPS strongly recommends the food exchange system as the way to learn how to make healthy nutrition choices. The exchange system does not dictate what you should eat but guides you to use variety and flexibility in your meal planning at a calorie level that is best for your goals. It will teach you specific portion sizes and allow youto plan meals, using food you enjoy and your body needs.""
There is a food chart that shows you exchanges you can have for various calorie count. It kinda reminds me of Richard Simmons cards. And even a little like ww points system. I have only known a few who have tried it. Just wanted you to know that TOPS does have a plan even tho we are a support group.Ask your leader about it or go to TOPS web site . www.tops.org. Part of being a support group is to help you find healthy ways to lose. I have no one in my group that uses it but it is there for those that want.
Quite a few TOPS members use the WW plan. WW is an excellant healthy plan.It is a good plan and a lot of people have done well on it.My sister lost 50+ pounds doing ww and then lost another 20 as a TOPS member. She lost her last 10 pounds doing South Beach.
