Hey Everyone!
I'm new to these boards, and came across them by accident. I'm 24, 5' tall and weigh 137 LB's. I'm looking for support as I begin losing this weight, and ideas on how to do it effectively. I'm an emotional eater, I gained alot of weight from medications I was on, but are now off, and have no clue about portion control at all...like I said ...I"m a novice at this sort of thing. But I want to get back to about 115, or less. My sister is getting married in September, and I would love to lose weight by then, as I am a bridesmaid, so pictures will be taken.

Hi! my goal is also about 115 punds, I am turning 24 tomorrow...
and I am also canadian (errr living in the states now though)
This is a really good board with lots of idea about eating healthy and exercise...and a really good variety of topics....i think one thing that really has helped me with nutrition has been entering (at least for a week) everything i eat into fitday.com its a free online tool and with tell you everything about what you eat (% of carbs, fat, type of fat, protein and if you are getting the required amount of vitamins and minerals... you can even track your fitness to see how many calories you are burning...of course i think for the most part its really just an estimate it is quite helpful) everyone on the boards is really supportive so dont hesitate to ask...reading some of the older posts is pretty helpful too
good luck
