First Time Here

  • I just would like to introduce myself. My name is Denise. This is my first time here.
I am so glad that I found this site. I do need losts of motivation. I have gained lots of weight and the more I try to do it on my own, the more weight I put on.
Thank you for a wonderful forum.

  • Hi Denise - I am very new to this as well. I have no will power or motivation. I have always been a "big girl". The more i try the bigger I get.
  • Welcome
    Hi there!
Welcome to the board....there are a lot of great people on this forum.
I have a hard time with motivation and willpower as well....I have found that when I focus on the times I do "bad" then I dig a deeper hole, but if I change my thinking to Wow-today I didnt eat 40 lbs of sugar-only 20! Then I at least have a place to start..It has helped me to write my goals on paper(part of the Body For Life program I have started) and actually break down what it is I want to do or see (ie jog for 20 min./fit in a dress 2 sizes smaller) so I have attainable goals to work for instead of just 'lose 50 lbs'-- this is working so far...and Ive been 'trying' for 4 years now and just kept gaining weight instead of losing- I really think it is working though only because I ve asked God to help me out!
so if this helps great-if not-keep trying until you find something that works for you!

  • Hi!
Hi, Denise, tina, and wkgirl. I am also really low on motivation. Sometimes it doesn't even seem worth the effort, but I don't want to get any larger and I want to be healthier. I made a goal for myself of 50 pounds in 2005, but I've only lost 20 so far, and that's been a battle. Maybe we can help each other?
  • I think 20 pounds is great!
That earns a very hearty, and well deserved, You GO!!! girl!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just started (again!) on my weight loss journey......but thanks be to God, I can tell a difference (small, but I'll take it!) already.

What 'plan', diet, whatever are you on/following?
