Buddy

  • Hi,

    I'm from a small town in Eastern Ontario, Canada and I was wondering if anyone would like to be my healthy/buddy. It has been 3 years since I quit smoking and the excuse "I gained all this weight because I quit smoking" just doesn't cut it anymore. I used to be athletic and active, but now have become a couch potato. We have cancelled our Satellite subscription for the summer, so that should get me up off my butt. I am a nutrition/fitness reading junkie. I buy all the magazines, books, watch the Oprah shows etc... and now I am finally ready to apply some of this knowledge and actually do something about my weight instead of complaining. I don't know if I am going to follow just one diet, but I think I may take a little from each and form my own way of eating heathly. I would like to cut out the sweets and white stuff, like Oprah and SB suggests. I would like to join a learn to run program and also do some fitness walking. I would like to find someone who will make me be accountable and also for encouragement. I just joined this website today and I think it is one of the best ones I have read.
    Whew.... that was long winded. If anyone is interested in being a support buddy, I would welcome you with open fat flabby arms swinging in the wind. LOL

    I'm in Eastern Ontario too, Cornwall!! This is the best site I've ever come across... You're right just take your knowledge and tools and use them that's basically what I did... A healthy eating plan is only good if you actually use it... I count calories at fitday.com and keep the processed carbs and sugars out as much as possilbe, it's not always easy... I bike, run, weight train and walk as exercise, I do something most times daily to keep in shape.
