  • Hello all, Sorry I haven't been around much.Haven't been feeling real well but am much better now.I am still working on staying on the South Beach. I am doing well with it most of the time.But I need to rein in how much I eat after supper.That is still a big problem area. I actually do well when we eat out.And I do good during the day most of time. It is just after supper that I just screw up. So I have to work on that area. I am exercising some every day.Nothing real strenuous but walking and swimming in pool each day. So slow but sure
    We went to Crystal River to see one of our grandsons get baptized.It was very touching as there were two boys who were baptized by their fathers. My son was one of fathers.Very touching.
    Then Bill and I did some yard work.Planting some plants.I supervised while Bill did labor.Ha Ha
    I went to art class yesterday but it is her last day to teach for the summer.Her husband just had open heart surgery and she want to spend summer with him. She told me to come see her and if I have a problem with what I am working on to bring it to her house and she will help.I am suppose to go back to Sat mornings with a new lady. And I am going to a 3 hour work shop given by another artist at Heritage Village next week.
    I have two more aquatic classes and then they end.But I have been doing most of the moves in my pool.
    But overall I am doing much better than I was.
    It is good to see the newer people posting. Some of you are doing so good. I may not post often but I do keep an eye on my chickies. They don't call me a mother hen for no reason.
    We are having beatiful weather here in Florida but it is fast getting hotter. Ok take care and have a good day
  • Hi Eleni.... I know what you mean about after dinner eating..... its very hard for me too... what I been trying to do is relax with a cup of green tea, it seems to relax me after dinner .. i keep sugar free fudgsicles on hand also, helps my chocolate cravings ....Since i just had a severe gout attack i have to restrict fats and meat... mostly veggies, fruit and carbs, its not easy to keep the calories down that way, but I really dont want another gout attack, which is very painful.

    We are going to plant some veggies here in NY soon.... the weather has been a bit damp this past week but the sun peeks thru every now and then....

  • I'm still here
    Yes, I'm still here. Lurking mostly. Lost again at TOPS Monday. Sometimes you're so good and expect a loss and gain (been there done that) sometimes you're bad and expect a gain and lose (wish that happened more often) but this week I expected a gain because I'd been working my legs out like crazy, was stiff all over and expected a gain from muscle and was pleasantly surprised to lose 3.25. Felt good. I think that brings my TOPS total to 16 pounds 89 more to go. Ugh.

    I also got my first TOPS magazine yesterday. Going to take it to work with me to read (along with the three books I bought and two books on tape I got from the library). I hope you're all doing great. Hope to "talk" to you all soon. Hang in there. We can do this.
  • Hotcopojava.. That is a wonderful surprise to lose that much and not expect it!!! congtats.... I get very inspired when I read the posts, makes me want to do better.... I resigned for 3 mos. at my fitness center, going there this morning and start working out again, very slowly at first but will keep at it.... They have a miles challenge from memorial day to labor day.. I signed up for 100 mi.... so I will be very busy there... Have a great day India/Barb
