Can I be doing this wrong?

  • My husband and I just started ww. I'm convinced we are doing something wrong. we are eating so much food. Of course we go by points, use ww recipes and such. I just feel like I eat better now on a diet then I ever have. Everything gets checked for its point values before we eat it. I'm just shocked.
  • If you really are sticking to your points allowance, it will work. WW is designed to be sustainable over the long haul, so you shouldn't be feeling like you are on some sort of deprivation plan. The ideas is that you are going to be eating this way pretty much for life.
  • I found this too when I first started
  • I thought this too, especially because the 5 servings of fruit and veggies, which are sometimes 0 points. Every other time I tried dieting, I ate less food, which made me feel not so good, so I would quit. I've never stayed on any diet for so long and been this successful. I've only done this a few weeks, but the longest I ever stayed on anything else was 2 weeks.
  • No what is happing is you may be getting more quantity but it is is also a higher quality.

Higher fiber, lower fat, lower calories. That is why it feels like you are getting more food.

If you think about it say a burger joint has a burger you used to get that is 500 cal, fries for another 350 cal and a soda for another 200 cal. Now you do a salad w/dressing for 40 cal, yogurt for 120 cal, sandwich for 200 cal, baked chips for 120 cal. You got much more food for a lot less calories and fat.
  • During my first week or two my hubby said to me that he thinks I eat more now than before WW. I find that I graze pretty much all day now, whereas before I would mostly just have meals.
