  • It's cloudy this morning but not too cold so come and sit a bit on the deck and we'll chat and sip. The Girls are putting on a doggie wrestling show on the grass for us. Too funny!

I'm planning some cooking, laundry, and gardening this morning and am "working" in the Greenhouse after lunch to give Lorraine a bit of a break.

What's happening around your Beach Umbrella?
  • Good Mornin' Chickies! It's goin to be another wonderful day in the south!

Ruth...The dog show sounds funny! I'll be over after I get the lunch checks wrote and the chittlin's out the door!

Not much happenin around here today. Need to do some cleanin and such around here today. I think the mattress will sleep really good once my knee is no longer sore. I'm a stomach sleeper so it's really hard right now sleepin in the bed! I'm fired up and ready to be a loser in P-1! I hope you all have a great Monday! I'll be back later.
  • Good morning, Chicklets!

Ruth, you have no idea how much I envy you! What I would give to be able to spend a day doing something I love like you do your gardening....

Bamie, I hope your knee is feeling better soon! i'm a side/tummy sleeper, so I know what you mean!

As for me, well, it's Monday. I'm getting ready for work and wishing I didn't have to go. I'm so tired, but you know, it's my own fault for staying up too late.

Tonight I'm watching the season finale of The Batchelor...I didn't like her at first but I hope Krisily wins... I'm so glad that horrid Sarah W is gone... didn't like her at all (oooh everyone hates me because i am so beautiful! if only i were a little uglier i would not have been eliminated... oh puhleez)

Anyway, that's about it for me..guess i need to go slap some warpaint on my face and brush my teeth and get out the door...sigh... I DONT WANNA GO!!!!

    have a great day, all!

Can't believe I here so early Now for that cup of java

Its raining again today and there calling it for the untire week.I tried something new exercising before breakfast with my WATP"s 2 mile tape, with weightsI read somewhere that if you exercise before breakfast your body loses faster. UGH!!! I'm a late morning & late evening exerciser.Tonight on the bike

Going to Walmart, they have stop bell fat cortisol on sale and my DH wants to loose that beer belly.I have no idea if it works, but I'll keep you posted.

Marine-Don't stress out at work, warning: that we lead to over eating. Not into the network shows I like watching the old but goodie movies TCM[Turner Classic Movies]

    Have anice day Hugs BB
  • Good morning to everyone!

Ruth - I love watching dogs play together... eventhough I just have Princess, whenever we take her to the pet store or to the park, I get the biggest kick out of watching her interact with other dogs.

Bamie - I'm supposed to sleep on my back because I've had previous back problems, but I find myself almost every morning turned over to my belly. I can only imagine how hard it must be with your knee! Are you allowed to sleep on your side with a thick pillow/cushion between your knees? (Of course, I would imagine the bum knee would have to be the one on top.)

MarineTubaMom - I think I'm WAY too hyper this morning because I stayed up so late last night. We had a HUGE tv dilemna last night with all of the shows that were on. Here's how we broke it down - we recorded the Simpsons' hour long season finale from 8-9 (DBF is HUGE fan); we also recorded Desperate Housewives from 9-10 (both of us love that show); then we watched the Survivor Finale from 8-10:10 (long enough to see the winner) then videotaped the rest of the reunion part of the finale and went back to the bedroom to watch Desperate Housewives. Whew! DBF will watch the rest of the reunion part of Survivor and his Simpsons' show while I'm at work today. Gotta love end of season time!!

Me - I'm trying not to aggravate everyone at work with my hyperness today. I'm watching my carbs closely the next few days and paying close attention to any cravings that I may have, as I did have a full planned off-plan day yesterday. I won't go into details, but I was quite bad. So far, only 1lb is showing on the scale - we'll see for real what damage I did if any cravings come back. Although I did manage to sneak in some exercise - in the form of bowling. I love bowling!! We played 2 games which ran us into an hour of playing time and also played a pretty physical game of air hockey. Fun!!

Ok, I suppose I should do some work today... after all, that's what they pay me for!!
  • good morning Gals...everyone must be sleeping in today!! Usually when I post there are tons of posts before mine!
Ruth, what kind of dogs do you have? I have a little mixed lhasa apso/pekingese that's a total nut case! She is the craziest funny dog I've ever seen. She's only 5 months old, but we're hopelessly attached to her! her name is Gidget, but the kids call her Puh.

It is gonna be a gorgeous day here isn't it bamie!!! the suns out and it's finally not hot! high of 75 today. I'm seriously thinking about mowing my back yard!

I'm starting to get a bit depressed, my oldest daughter is graduating in less than 2 weeks!!! it's driving me crazy, I'm trying to act happy for her, but at the same time, I really want her to stay my little girl!

I have been staying OP religiously, I'm so proud! I love the fact that with this diet (so far) I haven't had any cravings! And I'm being able to exercise a lot. I'm close to my May weightloss goal of 15 lbs and my May exercise goal of 2000 min. The months only half over!!
  • Good, Good Monday Morning: I'm on early today, but I'm also not coming back for quite a while! I need to get some projects done and I've banished myself from the computer until they get done (or at least started!)

We have quite a pile of laundry - our weekend was pretty busy so we didn't get it done. I would like to start on some curtains that I've had the material for... forever! I also MUST exercise today. I've only been doing about 1 x a week, and I used to be really good. I need to get back in the habit. It's difficult because DH and I used to do it together, but his work schedule makes that almost impossible.

I haven't ever watched the Bachelor *well, I think I did the first season* I've heard this was a good one. I was pretty happy with the Survivor results, although I was rooting for Ian - he's a good kid who just wasn't mature enough to deal with some of the personal relationship issues. I think he had it bad for Kate I'm glad Tom won, he was one of the most honest hard-working guys out there.

Bamie - I love our mattress, it' going on 5 years, but we picked out a good one! I hate to think about getting a new one, I'm afraid we'd spend all the money and hate it! Hope you are still healing well!

Good Morning Ruth - I woke up early because my dog was yipping up a storm informing us it was time to rise and shine! She has so much energy in the morning. I wish I had half of it.
  • Gee - three people posted while I was typing! I gotta run - but I'll chat with the others later Didn't mean to ignore anyone!!!
  • Morning chicks!

Well I gagged down my leek soup and ate my leeks this morning. The juice I just had to gag down but the leeks themselves were actually pretty good. I had them with olive oil drizzled on the them and a squirt of lemon juice. I have the feeling that I will be soooo glad to get to phase I on Wednesday that it will seem like a dream. So far I'm not crabby but it is only 9:00 am. And my coffee tastes like leeks.

Ruth - I went this weekend to the greenhouse and purchased my tomato plants, beans, peppers and herbs. I was going to plant them yesterday and DF asked if I had seen the weather. It is going to be in the 20's (degrees) tonight! So they are safe in my garage waiting for the warmer weather.

Bami - You are sounding like your old self again. Hope your knee is healing well. I used to be a stomach sleeper but I can't do that anymore with my neck problems. I sleep on my side or my back now.

Phins Up - You are my inspiration this morning! Great Job!

Sassy - You crack me up! I can' just imagine all the coordination to get everything done. I watched the Simpsons!

Hottie, Beach Bum and Marine - HI

Oh well I better get some work done! Have a good day chicks!
  • Sorry... I'm rushing off to see my psychiatrist... I'll try to get back in later. Love you all!
  • Ruth, just reading about your day making me tired! I envy your time in the greenhouse, though...I would love to be gardening today! Have fun!

Bamie, your poor knee! I hope things get better soon so you can have a good night's sleep. Good luck on being a big loser in P1!!!

Aileen, you are cracking me up with that smilie! I know the feeling about work. The Sarah girl is from our area...she's in all our papers. I don't watch the show so I don't know anything about it.

BB, I love old movies too! I watch the Bells of St. Mary's on TCM the other day. I love that movie! Check out Buyer Beware for info on Cortisol. My mom has been on it (though I've tried to get her to stop wasting her money) for at least a year now and it's done nothing.

Sassy, from your avatar, seems like Princess is growing up! What a cutie! Wow...lots of tv planning! Most of my shows have dropped off the radar all of a sudden...but I just watch my taped shows, so I'm not sure if they talked about it being the end in between other shows. Desperate Housewives was funny last night...DH and I both enjoy it.

Phins, thanks for reminding me that the month is only half over...I still have a ways to go on my May goal. I'm thrilled for you, though!!! I know it must be hard with your littl girl growing up, but just think of the wonderful adult relationship you'll be able to have now. And eventually, she may have a bunch of kiddos for you to enjoy all over again.

Christy, have a great day! The curtains sound like a great project! I love sewing!

Amy, I have to go mine the weekend daily to see what happened at your party! It's cold here too. Oy...I'm ready for spring! What's going on what this leekfest???

    Ellis, I hope it's a great meeting!

    Me:
Well, back to 214 again. I did make that splenda apple pie on Saturday and it was delicious, but DH and I finished in by last night! I definitely have some work to do on controling my eating. The good thing was that I didn't have a second dessert on top of it even though I still hadn't eaten my nuts for the day. So I am making progress.

I forwarded an e-mail from a non-denominational Christian organization about saving the filibuster to a couple of ladies on the prayer chain at work. Oy...I started a huge fire. Everyone's very upset with me, and I didn't have any intention to start a fight! It just never occurred to me that anyone I knew would feel differently than I did about this. Guess my mom was right...don't discuss politics with others!

Had a lovely weekend of gardening and things are starting to shape up. I was so excited because I was able to get a Hellebore for only $5.73...everywhere I've seen them, they've been $10 or more!

Because class was cancelled last Thursday, I didn't have any homework all weekend, but I'm going to be paying for it this weekend. I'm hoping the work isn't too hard.

    Have a great day, chicks!
  • OK - last post before I head out. I'm going to do my exercise (which is up in my guest/craft room.) Then, because I'm already up there I hope to get motivated to organize and possibly sew

I started Phase 2 today. (Well, yesterday a day early! We went on a picnic so I had a sandwich with Sugar Free Whole Wheat Bread.) Basically Phase 2 is almost exactly like when I was on 6 Week Body Makeover (differences: I could have potatoes and couldn't have dairy.) So, this morning I made my old 6WBMO diet b'fast - Oatmeal and a Veggie Sausage Patty. One thing... I seem hungrier because of the lower amount of protein I think, (the patty has 10 grams.) I usually have an egg for b'fast. So we'll see how I go. I'll have a higher protein snack. I think the oatmeal and an apple later today are the only new things I'm going to add. I'm going to wait to add brown rice until later and I'll do bread on days I don't do oats.

    Any suggestions?

I lost at least 8 lbs on Phase 1 (I didn't weigh myself until the 2nd day... I had gained and didn't want to see!) I'm just barely under 250 this morning! 249.8 I'm going slower than I have before, but I'm hoping that's a good thing.

    Have a great day ladies
  • Laurie - I'm doing the "French Women Don't get Fat" book detox for two days. Which is leek soup and leeks for two days. I figured I needed a jump start because I'm getting bored with SBD. It is my fault - I haven't prepared any food in advance and I'm eating the same old things all the time. I'm cutting out the drinkies until June 4 when I have a graduation party to go to. I didn't drink at all from Sept - December (until my b-day) and I lost 42 pounds. Now I haven't lost any new weight and I've been out with friends almost every weekend since January. So the drinkies must go for awhile. Time to refocus. I figure that I'll be so sick of leeks that phase I is going to seem like dream.
  • No drinkies here while I do Phase I. I sure will miss my wine with dinner, however.
  • hello all
I'm back from the great beyond. Wow, what a few weeks!!!! Wedding and receptions are over. What a relief. All the kids left back to their prospective States and now I have a disaster of a house, laundry....blah blah blah!

Anyway, reality check on the scales, it wasn't pretty, but I feel that I'm able to cope again.

Great to read the posts and feel motivated again!
