Success stories with S Beach?

  • Hello everyone I will be starting S beach as soon as my books arrive and wonder are thereany great success stories? I need to lose about 90 pounds and am looking for motivation on S Beach to keep me going and motivated. I have been on ww, 6wbmo, dieting on my own etc... and I don't want to fail this time. So I am wondering has anyone had great success with S Beach? Why did you start S Beach?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Carol, welcome! My doctor recommended it after I pretty much broke down and said I was tired of feeling like a pudgey mom . He went over several lifestyles/diets with me but said he really felt strongly about SBD...apparently his wife lost 90 pounds on it and did great. He said he has many patients that have had real success with SBD, not only in lowering their weight, but with other health factors. I read the book and *bam*, it just clicked...made so much sense...and so I started on 4/1/05...down 13 pounds so far! I won't lie, there are occasions where I slip...today I had two RUMMY bites of a VERY sugary cake, but I just hop right back on plan when I slip and don't beat myself up about it.

Good luck to you Carol! there are some wonderful Chicks on the Beach...
  • Welcome to the beach, Carol! You picked the right place to be! This group is awesome! Endless support, smiles and cheerleading tossed in with understanding and comfort - that pretty much explains the atmosphere around here

Looking forward to getting to know you!

  • Carol, welcome!
Yes, there are some real success stories here. I did very well on South Beach last year until my Dad became ill, so I can recommend the "diet" as a good one, although my ticker doesn't indicate much at the present time.

  • Welcome to the Beach! I've lost around 70 pounds so far and most of it was after I started South Beach.
  • Carol, welcome! I suggest that to set yourself up for success, you wait a week after getting the books to start. Use the week to read the book, well, buy OP foods, schedule your menu, rid your house of foods that are off plan (this helps a LOT), and read the FAQ posts in our forum. It'll really help make sure you do this right. If you cheat in Phase 1, you need to start over, so set yourself up to get through it without any cheats, okay?

Here's a post about my weightloss journey: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57077 I've lost all of my weight on SBD. I've never stuck to a plan this long in my life. It's a fabulous healthy WOE that I plan to follow for the rest of my life.
  • Laurie I just read your success story *sniff* I am soo proud of you!! It was so awesome thank you for the tips and for me to get ready I know that I have alot to read so much for sharing that. I used to be a size 24w and did ww and was on my own for a minute. I am ever ever so blessed to come here and find so much support.
