Hello and Happy Mothers Day to everyone..... Its bright and sunny he re in NY and promises to be a very nice weekend First of all, my daughter Melissa announced she is going to have a baby around christmas time ..... It will be her 3rd child..... and grandma is very happy for her. My mother in law is being released f rom the nursing home for the day, she recently lost a leg to vascular disease but is doing quite well and will be released later this month after her therapy....so it will be quite a nice Mothers day for us.....

My diet didnt do so well this past few weeks but I am determinded!!!! I will try and do better this month.... I really need to get this weight off, Im sick of my doc telling to lose weight and I will feel better....

Congratulations, India on the new expected grandbaby. It is a great joy to look forward to.

I have been meaning to get on and post all week and it seems like there is just too much to do. I enjoyed SRD very much and it was great seeing Eleni again. I was behind stage while the King and Queen gave their speeches and missed most of it because people were moving around and doing things. My feet were hurting and I just wanted to sit down. I finally got to sit down in the lobby where I could see thru the door to watch the KOPS, but had a lot of interruptions from people when they saw my committe ribbon. But the other members told me how inspiring it was and we had a good weight loss at Tops this week. I hope we can keep them inspired to lose more.

I had a 1.75 lb loss this week. I had gained several lbs last month, but I learned that the shots I had for my back were steroids and would cause a gain. Hopefully, I can lose it this month. I am motivated again and have set a mini goal to lose at least 12 pounds this year.

Eleni..I hope you are feeling better.

I am glad you had a such a great time at SRD. I am jealous that you got to see Eleni and I didn't.LOL That is great that everyone was so motivated. Congrats on your loss this week. Keep up the great work.

As for me. I have been MIA this week. I have been doing a lot of research and have accomplished a lot. I have a lot of great news to share with you all. I am flying high and I can actually say that I made myself so happy and I am heading in the right direction finally.
I am applying for an LLC on monday and within 2 weeks I will have my own company. Hopefully no one has this name I have the name of SMJ Investments, LLC picked out. I hope I won't have to change it. It is named after me and my 2 kids. The business will be all mine and it will be an investment business for buying, selling and renting real estate. I was offered a property to buy with 4 rentals I was telling you about. I had to turn down the offer even though the guy was going to sign the place over to me and put himself as the lein holder for me to get a loan. It just didn't work out. Not enough equity in the home for the purchase price he wants. Well when I turned down the offer today and thanked him for the opportunity and learning experience (which I learned so much on my own this week) that he ended up telling me if I was really interested and wanted the property he talked to his accountant and he said he could hold the mortg for me with no money down. The interest rate would be low enough that I would actually make something off the property. All units are full and I will have to raise the rent some to make money. But I am so excited. I was told that no one is going to hand over their property with no down payment. And he is willing to do this for me to get the property. He said he is talking with his accountant and it will take a few days to figure everything out and he will get back to me. So I will be owning my first property probably within a month. I am so excited. I also was approved for a loan of $5,000.00 through the credit union to pay for the LLC to start my business and for the deposit I will need to be able to purchase some properties hopefully 2 at the county tax auction on June 11th. You can get some great properties for very little money. So that is what I plan to do. I have a great plan and I am signing up and having my dad go with me to classes through the county that are free that teaches you how to have a successful business and when you complete the course you are elgible for low interest financing. It is an 11 week course that starts again in sept. on monday nights from 7-9 pm. I am so excited this is really working out and I am doing this for me.
My eating hasn't been the greatest. I haven't written anything down but yesterday I was down 1 lb from what I gained. I have my surgery on my stomach on monday have to be there at 10:45am. Glad it is the morning and not late afternoon. I was told when I scheduled for that day it would be afternoon only. You can't eat or drink anything from sunday midnight on. But I am sure when I get home I won't feel like eating will probably sleep. That should help with a loss this week.LOL

I am with you I have to make sure I have a loss at the end of the month. Susie I am proud of you for getting back on track this week and sticking with it. I have been so busy on the phone all week with realtors and mortg companies and attorneys and at the county looking up properties and leins and deeds and stuff that I haven't had a chance to get here. Plus we have had Ben this week as well. So it has been very hectic here.

coughing.Bill is loving the quiet.Ha Ha.
He is taking me out for lunch tomorrow and then to book store to pick out a
couple of books I want and then to movies. His two daughters have a surprise
for me that he let slip.I don't know what it is.Has something to do with
supper.I told him I was disappointed that I had not got a card from them and
he said don't be because they were doing something but it was a surprise.So
I have to pretend to be surprised.
Rebekah came over yesterday with 2 youngest ones and gave me an orchid plant..
William and his family came down from North Florida to see me yesterday.That was so sweet.First
time they have done that for Mothers day.They took me to Macaroni Grill for supper.Bill missed out as he was working a side job. My oldest grandson is several inches taller than me now and he thinks that is hot s--t. His brother will soon be taller too. I don't know what it is about boys getting such a kick out of being taller than mom or grandma.My son's were the same way.But I always reminded them I could bring them down to my size real quick.
Bill brought me a dozen white
roses.
Angel is coming by with Briana on her way to work in the morning. I usually
hate Mothers day but this is turning out to be one of my best.I think they
realize they don't know how many more I will be around for. Joy even
remembered to send a card.That's big for her.She usually forgets. They will
all call me tomorrow.My "daughter" Sherri called today but I missed the call.Being a mother has always been my best blessing.Even if it did feel like a
curse quite a few times.
India congrats on New grand child coming. grandchildren are great.
Nita I am feeling better from SRD.The small seat gave me bruises on thighs but I loved Srd.I already have my reservations for next year

Hello All,
Finally a chance to catch up, well sort of. I just got through reading all the posts. Thank you to all of you who share your struggles and advances here. I'm not just talking about the weight struggles, but life...it helps me to see where I want to be and how to get there.

I know it's important for me to deal with those types of things for I am truly an "emotional" eater. I use food with both good and bad emotions. Good ones I use food to boost that feeling, bad emotions, I use food to cover up those feelings.

I had a talk with my boss on Friday and he's going to get me some help. He said that he had already looked into things and the numbers show that I was handling 1 1/2 more claims than the Eastern Region. They have interviewed someone for the West and while we are waiting for that person to come on bored and start training them, my boss is having the eastern claims rep take on some of my claims. I'm grateful, because it was taking up my whole life!

The next bump I'm getting over is school. Just 5 more weeks and then I'll have the summer time to myself. That should help a great deal.

I've been losing and gaining the same 5 lbs since the beginning of the year and it's important to me to get over these 5 lbs and back in the race for 199.

I'm not waiting until the next 5 weeks are up. No..I'm getting right back in there...today! I've just made up my mind that "yes" that sugar will help me deal with an emotion, but it won't get me to where I want to be...taking a walk, doing some crunches, reading a magazine, writing a letter, breathing, will help me with the emotion and I'll be on track for my race to 199.

I'm ready again...really ready....

I hope all of you who are mothers have a wonderful mothers day. I wasn't given the privelage of having my own children, but rather I am loaned them from my friends and I am a "mother in my heart"..that's what my little 4 year old friend tells me. So, while this day always brings a bit of an empty feeling, I will celebrate that I have been loaned these other children and I will celebrate that.

I will post this week at least a couple of time. Please know that I'm thinking of you all and routing you on, and in five weeks you will see more of me, but for now it will be off and on. Please hold me accountable though..don't allow me to slip through the cracks. I've been "racing" along side you for so long now...I want to stay in the pack so we can all cross that finish line in our own time. For those that get to that goal line first...yell really loud so that we can hear you and know the way to go..for those of us running in our race towards our goal (mine is to get under 199), cheer everyone one as you are running, no matter where you are in the pack.

Eleni: I'm glad you are feeling better. Congrats on your loss.

Sherri: Girl, you have been busy!! I'm so proud of you for starting your own company. You sound like you really love what you are doing. They say to do what you love and you will be successful...I think you will be!

Nita: Congrats on your loss. Sounds like SRD was very inspiring to both you and Eleni. We have ARD coming up in June and I can't wait. I'm very excited about it.

India: A new grandbaby on the way! How exciting!! What a wonderful mothers day gift for your whole family.

I'm off to take a walk..then hit the tanning bed. I skipped church today. I just can't deal with all the "mother's day" stuff they have.
