carbonated water

  • hi i drink tons of flavored water and they are mostly carbonated water. i was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is bad for me and if it still counts as water. i drink about 4 glasses of it. it has 0 calories and 0 carbs but it does have sodium. and also can sodium cause weight gain? please reply thanks
  • yes it does cause a gain if you too much of it. you are better off drinking regular water. glen
  • Luckily, it's just water weight gain If you are sensitive to sodium, or have problems retaining water, then drinking a lot of beverages that contain sodium can be a problem. It can't cause you to gain fat, though. I agree with Glen, regular water is usually the way to go I personally keep a Brita pitcher in the fridge so I always have ice cold filtered water, and a sliver of lemon is nice. Some of the flavored waters would be an equal substitute. What are you drinking?
  • Hmmm I drink Canfield's flavored seltzer...0 calorie, 0 carb, sodium free La Croix is another one and Whole Foods carries a few varieties as well.
  • I need to drink more water and less diet sodas.
  • I enjoy LaCroix, but only drink it occasionally now.
  • All flavored water has calories in it, there just under 4 grams so the Food companys don't have to put that on the tab.
