Sour Cream/Hidden Valley Veggie Dip - Phase 1

  • I'm sorry I didn't post this in the food section.. but it doesn't look like there have been many posts made lately.. and wanted to get an answer asap

Does anyone know if nonfat sour cream is allowed on Phase 1 and if so.. how much is allowed per day?.. do you think it'd be okay to add some powered dip mix/Hidden Valley Ranch to it for veggie dip?

Thanks so much for reading and for replying.. if ya do
  • You can have 2 TBS. light or reduced fat sour cream. As far as I know the ranch would be fine. Especially since you can only have 2 tbl spoons. lol Hope this helps!
  • Thanks so much for replying!

That's 2 Tb a day?.. not per meal right?
  • Well..... I can only imagine that it is! lol
  • What about in phase 2, how much sour cream can you have then?
  • I would say it is the same. It does not show an increase in phase 2.
  • Sunny, I've never limited my dairy, and didn't have trouble with my weight loss. That said, I didn't eat much dairy. I've tried to eat mostly veggies with some lean meat and some dairy alongside. 2 Tbsp is a serving size of sour cream. I wouldn't eat more than that at a sitting, but you might have three or four servings a day, depending on what you are eating. Stick with Nonfat or lowfat only, okay? Check the ingredients in Hidden Valley ranch...the packets often use hydrogenated products, and you don't want to ever eat those...they have horrible trans fats. You might want to just use the regular dressing, which tends to be made with good fats.

    Good luck!
  • I really appreciate the replies to this thread. I love a little dip w/veggies and my fav way is to mix the nf sour cream with a pack of Hidden Valley dip

INGREDIENTS: Maltodextrin, Salt, Monosodium Glutamate, Onion, Garlic, Parsley, Carrageenan, Buttermilk, Spice and Calcium Stearate

    YUM!!!
  • I don't think we are allowed to have monosodium glutamate but I don't have my book with me now.
