Feeling a little down

  • I know I shouldn't but I got on the scale this morning and didn't lose any. I know I shouldn't expect to lose a pound every day but it still made me a little sad

    But still . . . . I have lost 5 pounds in 5 days

I just have to keep trucking along.

Thanks for listening. It makes me feel better to write it down.
  • Erin, Do not get discouraged!!!! Our weight goes up and down each day. Sometimes the foods we eat (sodium) will retain some water and show on the scale. That's why you should not weight yourself each day, unless you are just trying to keep yourself on track. There have been days that I've done well all week and then all of a sudden , on weigh-in day, gained some pounds. I think it's also important to take a look at the average weight of the week. (Ex. each days weight divided by 7).

You are doing wonderful this week so keep up the great work
  • Hang in there! You're doing great!
  • ERIN!!! You are doing great! We just started this last week and you've lost a lot! Plus - you have stayed on plan, which is more than I can say.

Your weight can be a lot of things - sodium levels, amount of water you drink, going to the bathroom!!! Taking it by the week is a good idea. (Now - I'm a daily weigher except when I know I've been bad! So, this is hard for me too.) I weigh daily in the beginning - but then I do about 2-3 days a week. I have a "weigh-in" day. Then I weigh to see how I'm going, if I need to cut out cheese, nuts, PB - that can slow down my losses.

Hang in there!!!! We are all in this together!!!
  • ERIN YOU'RE DOING GREAT=5 POUNDS IN FIVE DAYS Sometimes the body rest for a day or two before it stays to lose again. Hang In There You'll lose again. Hugs BB
  • Erin, I know what you mean. I can't help but feel a little down when my weight doesn't do what I want or expect it to. But I also spend time thinking about all the positive things happening in my life and remind myself that it's not all about pounds. Sometimes when I need encouragement, I measure myself or use a fat percentage monitor...or I check and see how my clothes are fitting. Those things sometimes go in the right direction when my weight is not changing (or going up! ).

Have you tried using 3FC's journals? They are not only motivating and helpful when you're going through hard times, but others can read what you've written and comment, and sometimes that is the best thing of all...to know that you're not alone in what you are feeling. :
  • Thank you so much everyone! I just LOVE the support from here!!

I hope I can keep this up while we're away. I've tried to plan all my snacks and figure out what restaurants we're going to.

Have a GREAT week chicks! Talk to you all on Monday.
