I'm back!!! I've had a very rough few weeks! Computer crashed....VERY sick, etc.....I've got to get to work so I'll post and tell all about it tonight.

Hello girls!!! I am still exhausted, but hanging in there... trying to take care of three households in very trying! Mom is doing fair, in my opinion, she came home from the hospital in better shape then she is now... I am calling or we are seeing the doctor for one thing or another every few days. She is now on a $10.00 a pill antibiotic for possible bladder infection. Today she is having a difficult time breathing, I left the oxegen on her and she continues to wheeze. The doctors in the other city wanted her to find a doctor here closer to home, we went back to her old doctor (which is mine too) but now I'm worried since he isn't a heart specialist, his opinions vary from the physicians in the other town. I wish someone would just tell me how she is REALLY doing. I have some that are very optimistic about a recovery and others who tell her she is living on borrowed time. I am the only one of five children to stay with her full time (no choice) one brother tries to come in for a few hours here and there. The other brother and two sisters are "disowned" as far as I am concerned. Not one call or anything to check on mom. I'm sorry to be such a downer today, but I needed to vent.

Dearest Gayle-You are such a wonderful daughter. How awful about your brother and sister that haven't called. I hope that insurance is covering the medication. Is it, or is she on Medicare, when she has to pay for meds?

Gayle, sweetie, I know you're going through a VERY rough time right now. Please hang in there! I don't even want to imagine one of my parents being that sick! Love you, lady.

Shelley, how are things in sunny Fla? Because of all the hurricanes down there last year, the gov't has asked for volunteers from among us to serve a 2-week detail down there. If it wasn't for the fact that I now have a husband to consider, I'd definately sign up for that--even though a lady I know is down there and says they work from around 6:30 a.m. to around 7:00 p.m. every day. Have your parents started moving yet?

Dee, how's everything going for you? Kids both OK? Back OK?

Sorry I haven't been over to the exercise thread at all this month. Haven't exercised. Actually, I've gained weight (surprise!). I went to put on my watch the other day and I couldn't even get it fastened around my wrist--and EVERYONE knows that your wrists and ankles are usually the last places that gain weight! I just can't seem to care. I know what to do and how to do it--just a question of -doing- it! Ich.

I'm at work posting. If I quit real fast it's because the Principal came out of her office. This is a NO-NO at work! (I'm soooo bad!)

I was so tired by the time I got home from work yesterday, I didn't post.

I have had Pleurisy again. I have been on Prednisone twice, had shots and my b/p has been extrememly high. I'm much better now.Just trying to get my energy level back up.

I have gained weight but now since I'm better, I'll try again to lose and start walking again. I've been so depressed but now that I'm better, I'm in a much better frame of mind and actually I'm laughing & smiling a lot the last couple of days.

I want to thank you for my cards, letters and asking about me. Most of all, for missing me!! I'm so glad to be back. If I don't post everyday, please don't worry. I promised Wayne that I would slow down and take care of me and spend less time away from the computer. So if I only post once or twice a week don't be upset please.

Gayle....I'm so sorry that you've had to go through so much lately. I wish I could come to KS and help out. Take care of your Mom (she's lucky to have you!) ...But also take care of YOU!!!! I love you and sorry I haven't been here for you through this. I hope you'll forgive me.

Ramona....Thank you too!!! Gosh I miss Chris! He was suppose to get a leave for this week but it was turned down. Hopefully it will come through on his next request. I hope you're doing ok. How are the boys? I KNOW how much you miss them! How is work? Still busy? Please post soon...don't be like me!!

Gayle my prayers are with you and your family. I pray that you would have the strength and knowledge on the care of your mom. I pray that your mom has a full recovery. I also pray for your girls and hubby too that they understand why you don't have as much time for them right now, and that they know the right things to do to help you. Gayle never mind feeling like you are such a downer. We are always here for you. We appreciate you letting us know how things are going. We are backing you up with prayer.

Sherry I am so happy to see that you posted, even if it was cut short. You work to hard girl and wear yourself down. That isn't going to help anyone. Youknow the speach I have given it to you before. I know that it is hard not to have everything perfect but you have to let some of that go. Take care of Sherry. My prayers are being sent your way.

Cheryl you need to post here so we can encourage you on your weight loss journey. Start walking and you will feel better. I know it is a vicious(sp? brain dead from too much drugs) cylcle we eat because we are upset that we gainned weight therefor gainning more. Been there done that. Let us help you. If you start walking abit you will feel better and also encouraged to watch what you are eatting. You can do it with our help.

Dee--Thanks for the encouraging words. A lot of the reason I've been so "blah" lately is because I've been having a rough time at work (again). This time, though, things have gotten so bad that I've filed a complaint against my manager. She doesn't know it yet, and things are going to be so much worse when she finds out.

Part of me feels guilty because I filed the complaint (which leads to EATING) because it's going to hurt her feelings. But the bigger part of me knows that I'm doing the right thing, because something has GOT to change in my office. Right now, I'm just waiting for the s**t to hit the fan. It's not gonna be pretty.

Sherry-Please know that the result of prednisone is not only weight gain, but depression. I know when I was on massive doses, I was depressed even while taking Prozac. I am so glad that you have posted. I have missed you very much. Things are so, so busy at work, I'm sure you can imagine because you are in the same position. With all the job cuts in sight, it will only get busier.

Cheryl have you heard anything from your manager? Sometimes for things to get better you have to do something about it that is stressful. I am sure that you are nervous about it but you did the right thing. Let us know how it goes.

Hey, did you see AI last night? Bo, was awesome, and so was Anthony (finally.) My favorite, of course is Vonzelle. She did wonderful. They are having a big deal at the arena tonight from 7:30 on until the show. Ft Myers is pumped about Baby V.

Shelley I have no clue what you are talking about. I just figured it out.....I think. Is it american idol? Haven't watched it so I don't know the names of anyone. Is one of them from Ft Myers?

Janice I love your little guy under the umbrella. We haven't had any rain except a thunderstorm on sunday night. Don't know where that came from. You usually do get out weather. On monday we had a high of 25. Today it was only 13 but sunny.

Hello girls! It's after 10:00 p.m. here and I just made it home a little bit ago. I asked my brother to come and spend the night with my mom. She had a rough week and even rougher past two days. We went to the doctor today and spent 4 hours there!!! After x-ray's and CT's it was decided she has fluid around her lungs. They removed some for testing by doing a lung tap, we will know Friday if it is fluid build-up or infection. I'm leaning towards fluid build-up since she has no fever. They placed her on high powered antibiotics and I believe she is already feeling better tonight just by the amount of fluid they removed. She had so much fluid, it caused one lung to shrink way down and collapse to allow space for the fluid.

Nice to see the postings! Even if I can't make the time to post, it is nice to come here and read.
