  • Good morning, chicks. It's still dark here but you can see a slight glow in the East and the robins are singing up a storm! Another lovely spring day is on the way. I can't believe this wonderful weather we are having!

The Syrup Festival is over for another year and was a great success. I am feeling very tired this morning but coffee and a shower will perk me up. Sarah will be here at 9 for some gardening. I'll set her to raking and lugging and do something less strenuous like tidying my perennial herb rows. Harry and I both have dental appointments at one today and then footcare appointments at three so it will be a busy day.

What's happening around your beach towel this morning?
  • Morning,

Here it is a start to a new week.

Do you have anything in mind to work on for this week?

    Small goals BIG rewards.

I am going to reread the SBD book. Take it slow and let it sink in.

I have to remember that I am important and that I do count.

You have to remember that you are valued and appreciated.

I am busy with my DF and have a care plan meeting to go to this morning.

I wish you all happiness and success as you tackle whatever is on your "plate" for this week.

  • Good morning, Ruth and Lady!

Foot and mouth, eh, Ruth? Sounds nasty. I hate seeing the dentist. They're so invasive. I feel like I'm being molested when their hands are in my mouth.

I'm seeing my psychiatrist today, then I think I'll do some more gardening. The weather has been fantastic!!
Hmmm... there's probably an Everest-type mound of laundry on the floor in the basement... I'd better go check on that...
  • Good morning chickies! It was such a beautiful weekend here. I spent all day outside with the kids. While they played basketball and jumped on the trampoline, I painted and worked in the yard. My dh tilled up my "little garden" for me. Now I have to go buy this 10-10-10 fertilizer that my dad suggested working into the soil before planting. I'm looking forward to getting started with it!

Ruth~ Glad to hear your syrup festival was a success! Good luck at the foot dr. today! And you are so right about the coffee and shower! It does wonders for me!

Lady~ I purchased the Ab Lounge over the weekend and I'm making it my goal to use it everyday. I'm starting out light though. Don't want to overdo it. Also, I want to refocus cause lately I'm really slipping up! THanks for the encouragement! It really helps having you chicks for support!

Well, right now I'm just waiting for the "little ones" to arrive(I do licensed daycare in my home) while I enjoy my coffee and chat with you all. I hope each of you have a great day and that you reach each and every goal! Tara
  • Mornin' Chickies! Not much happenin around here today.

Ruth...Sounds like another full day for you!

Lady...I hope all goes well with the care meeting. (hugs)

Ellis...Have a session for me! lol I need it! Laundry...UGH! It's on my list today as well!

Tara....Sounds like you had a very productive weekend!

Me ....Detoxin' from the w-end! I sound like I been drinkin'! Well I will not go back to Mom's for a few weeks unless something happens so I should be good for a while. lol Have a great day all!
  • Good morning ladies!

Ruth - Enjoy your gardening this morning, the rest of your day doesn't sound nearly as delightful.

    Lady - Good morning!

Ellis - No matter what we do it seems like we climb Everest EVERY week at my house! Good luck with that!

Tar - Sounds like you had a busy weekend! Good luck with those little ones.

Me - After a week of pure and unadulterated at work last week, we're up and running again. This morning I'm having a couple bottles of water as they had no skim milk at Dunkin Donuts and chilling out to some Sinatra. My weekend was really quite great. Had to work Saturday, but ended up planning a picnic for Sunday with the families.

Enlisted the help of the 14 yr old SIL and made some great South Beach type food. I bought the lean beef and did my own seasonings for the burgers. We made deviled eggs, OP Oatmeal cookies, Sf Jello, and finally an excellent Brocolli Cauliflower salad. I was going to post the recipe, but I can't remember if Apple Cider Vinegar is P1 or P2.....

Anyway, despite the macaroni salad, rolls, and potato chips, all the food was OP and I didn't touch a morsel of the other. Why would I when I'm fitting into some old jeans and am allowed to eat all the other great dishes?

Picnic went wonderfully. Shelby got to run around and get her energy out, which makes me feel so much better. She doesn't have enough room to run at home. I figured she would want to swim in the lake, but apparently she wasn't up for that. Though the night before she took a shower! (We have a shower stall only, no tub) How strange? Ahh well, she's adorably exhausted this morning.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
  • Good Morning.

It sounds like you all had great activity filled weekends. I planted my first flowers/herbs ever this weekend. DH bought me the plants and pots for my birthday yesterday. We live in an apartment so I only have a few, but it really does perk me up to see them start to fill in and such.

Well, I am off to school. I get to teach the future of america something math related that they won't pay attention to. But at least I can say that I tried! Only kidding!

    have a good one.

    Jamie
  • Good morning everyone! It was a wild weekend here. My daughter had two soccer games....plus going off program. I'm back on track now and don't intend to get "derailed" again!
Off to work, you ladies have a great day!!!!
    Jenn
  • Quote: Hmmm... there's probably an Everest-type mound of laundry on the floor in the basement... I'd better go check on that...
Same here with the laundry. It seems the more I do, the more piles up. I can never seem to get it all to go away.

I'm off work all this week due to not having a car so I plan on being outside as much as possible with Noah (my 1yr old) and walking, walking, walking. I'd like to try and plant some flowers but I am about clueless so I guess I'll see what happens.

What are you guys up to this week?
  • Just a quick Hello to everybody this morning
  • Good Morning Chicks

Woke up this morning with a nasty cold.UGHHHHHHHHHH!! But thats not going to stop me from walking along the beach, even though is very windy up here. The top of our deck just blew off.

Going to Start Phase 1 again for a few days as I wasn't very good this weekend. The weight just don't want to come off as easily this time around. Don't know why??????????????? My Doc & I dicussed this matter and he want me to be 140 as this would bring me down to 24 on the BWI charts. Don't want to go down lower.

Have a nice day ladies Hugs BB
  • Morning chicks!

I'm doing pretty well for a MONDAY! No helper at work today so I'm winging it myself. I didn't make it to the golf course yesterday because I cooked dinner. The troops couldn't decide if they wanted burgers on the grill or chili so I made both. I figure that way I'm set on the dinner making for awhile. We had the burgers last night and we'll have chili tonight. Besides if I make the chili I can make sure it is OP!

Ruth - I hope you have good visits at the doc's

Ellis - Thanks for the kind words yesterday. The X managed to do something really stupid this weekend that caused a big arguement so that helped me get over the melancoly (sp?) blues.

Bami - Have a great OP day sister!

Lady - Good morning! Good luck with the care plan meeting - they are never a favorite thing to do.

tar - I have an Ab Lounger! I love it! You have to start slow. I can't believe the workout you get with that thing. I was up to doing the entire video before I hurt my back in March. I'm restarting my exercising today! My DM also used my Ab Lounger and she broke her back when she was 18. She said it has been a God send for her back because it stretches you out so well! Let me know how it goes.

Adia - way to go on the prep work! I always prep on Sundays for the week ahead. I made SBD salmon recipe when I was making burgers yesterday. It is nice to come home and dinner is already done and all I have to do is pop it in the microwave.

Louise - Happy B-Day and when I lived in an apartment I loved my patio flowers! Have fun!

bonnie - When my son was 2 or 3 (I can't remember) I let him plant his own pot of flowers. He was so rough with them I thought they would never grow. Do you know they grew bigger than my carefully planted flowers! Have a great week!

    Sil - HI

I better get my nose to the grindstone! Have an OP day!
  • Morning, gals! I'm working from home today as I had an appt with my doc this morning. I had stopped taking my blood pressure medicine for the last 8 days since my pressure was getting too low after I donated blood. One time it got to 80/50! I've been getting a little dizzy when I stand up after I've been sitting awhile. Well, doc says I am still a little anemic after donating and since my pressure was up a little in her office, she doesn't want me to totally go off the blood pressure med yet. She did cut the dose in half so I'm now at 10mg when I used to be at 40. According to her weight charts I should be in the range from 121 - 135 (medium frame) so my goal is great. She's happy to see me where I am even but I want to drop another 10 or so.
  • Good morning everyone. The weather in Alberta is terrific, for this time of year. We are still not planting outside yet because of the danger of frost, so will need to wait a tad longer. We did have some frost last night, so it is a confirmation that it is still too early.

Ruth - Enjoy the gardening today. As for the rest, you can do the dentist.

Lady - Hope everything goes well with the meeting for your DF. Sending you hugs and best wishes.

ellis - It is so nice that the weather has finally turned nice for spring and that the days are so sunshiny. I don't envy you the laundry. I can remember when we did 22 loads of laundry every week. Thank goodness we are only doing our own now and that we can actually get it done, ironed and put away in the same week in which it was worn.

tar - WTG on the ab lounger. I haven't been following the latest on that kind of equipment - what does it look like? I do my abs the old fashioned way - crunches, diagonals, lower ab stuff. Not much fun, but it is working.

Bamiegurl - Feel sorry for you going through the detox. Hope it goes well and that you are back in normal condition soon. Take care.

AdiaFaith - Good to hear that you are up and running at work again. Also, that you had such a terrific weekend. The picnin sounds terrific. We are going to have to get organized to do more of that this year.

Jamie - Happy Birthday. Sounds like you received a wonderful gift this year. One that will give you much pleasure over the summer.

butterflykisses - Glad that you are back on track today. You take care and don't feel guilty. It's one of those things that happens, but as long as you bounce right back, you are doing fine.

bonnieb624 - Good idea to walk a lot this week. What kind of work do you do that you require a vehicle?

    2BFIT1 - Hi right back.

beach bum - Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather. A walk on the beach will be refreshing. BUT, don't send the cold my way. Once I get a spring cold, I have it until the next fall.

anchor weight - Good to hear that you are over the blues and OP to boot. WTG. Have a goo9d week and enjoy the burgers and chili.

Me - Nothing much going on hear. Took the dog out for a walk yesterday - 15 minutes walk, 45 minutes carry. And then had to get some cleaning done. DH drags the dirt and dust into the house faster than I can clean the flippin stuff up. Oh well, I guess the dust will be there until I get to it, unless some house cleaning fairies decide to visit.

I can't go to the track today. For some reason, I forgot my workout clothes. The alternative is to go to the Faculty Club at the university for lunch. I think it is a worse alternative, but, what the hey.

Tonight, I will go back at my upholstery work for one of the fellows that I work with, so that should keep me occupied this week. Went to buy new jammies at the store this weekend. I decided that I couldn't wear the ones that I have now in the hospital (I think DH would have a problem with that ) and I don't like wearing the ones that they have in the hospital.

That's pretty much my life for today. Not too exciting...

Hope everyone has a great day. Take care.
  • Barb - Sorry I missed you. I was typing, coffeeing, working a bit while you were posting. Look at your weight, girl. You have done an amazing job on controlling the weight this past year...and with it controlling your health. WTG. I'm so proud of you.
