i started off real slow. having been sedentary for so long there was no place for me to go but up. up off the couch, up off the puter chair, up off my bunz!
i started out going for 20 min. walks. each day i would head in a different direction. each week extending the length and duration. as i was progresing further and further away from my house, it was always in the back of my mind that i would have to walk that far back. and being the ever concientious sloth... i made sure i never left the house without my cell phone. in case i had gone to far and needed to call my hubby to come pick me up. ~laughing~ thankfully i never had to use that option. my slow strolls turning into hikes as i was learning the lay of my new land.
the Gym was my true goal. i wanted to build up my stamina and get the squeeks out of my knee's before i walked thru those doors again.

and i have! i started off slwo there too. just reaquainting myself with the machines and free weights for the first couple of months. then i dove in head first, it was like..... "Yea, i have the POWER!" ~said in her best He-man voice~ and then as par for the course for those who do to much to soon........ i hurt myself.

it wasnt even in the Gym! i went bowling after a leg day session. i'm not even a bowler. i'm a gutter ball thrower!! ~laughing~ but bowling is different here in Austria then in America. the balls, the pins, the games they play. i was eager so i leaped at the chance. and when i felt that twinge down the side of my hip. didnt think nothing of it..... till i felt it again only stronger, grabbing my leg and thinking "Now heyyyyyyyyy" needless to say by that evening i was walking like an Unfit ( i felt that important to include ) 92 year old. the following day i couldnt even put weight on it. ~power pout~ oooooooops sorry i'm digressing....fast foward...... Baby'd the injury and i am back with a new routine.
i walk every morning for a minimum or 20 minutes. just to say hello day and to give my adorable pooch a chance to read (sniff all those wonderful smells) the doggie daily along our trail. i go to the gym only 4 days a week now. splitting my routine M & F uppers/back, T & TH lowers/abs. wednesday, saturday, and sundays i hike for at least 45 minutes to an hour. oooooooooo remind me my next post to tell you about "Horrendous Hill" ..... ~shudders~ its like doing forward lunges all the way up! arrrrrrg...... but i'm doing it, slowly but surely
sincerely,
sassy
