hi alll. i jopined tops 2 weeks ago. i have lost over 10lbs with it so far.
i love the meetings and really look forward to them. just wanted to say hi to you all.

Nice to have you on board with us. I love my TOPS group. You are doing a great job so far...keep up the good work..share the victories with us..and come for help when you need it.

Good morning Ladies,
You can't live in Ohio today and not be happy. It's going to be 75 degrees! The sun is shinning and I wish I had the day off. Since I don't, I'll drive with my windows down at lunch time.

I'm not much of a plant person, but I do love them..just don't have a good green thumb, however, last year for my birthday I received an African Viloet. The thing is still living and this morning it had a bloom on it again. I just couldn't help but smile!

The warmer weather gives me a boost and I just feel like I can tackle anything.

I've been doing good this week with food. I'm not overdosing on sugar. I'll tell you though, the workplace sure can be a source of temptation if one lets it. This morning in the breakroom there is a plate of iced sugar cookies...ladies I love them...dunked in milk..but I talked to myself about them when I was filling up my water glass...and I know that I don't want them as much as I want my goal...so no cookies for me...and anyway I have my rationed Peeps to look forward to!

Ladies, I have to get back to work..but felt like I needed to check in. I do have something that is nagging me at the back of my mind. It has to do with DH. He goes back to work tomorrow and he's not in the best frame of mind about it. In fact last night he was really hard to get along with. I know that no one likes to work, but so what...we all have to do it. I've told him that if he wants to do something else...figure that out..do what it takes to get to that point and do it. He would rather wallow in the misery I think, and as much as I try to not let it bother me...it's there to deal with. I know I need to vent about this or it will eat at me and I'll start using food to comfort and deal with my frustrations...I don't want to do that...so I'm getting a good grip on it from the beginning by talking about it here.

Welcome. so glad your doing so good. you will love tops. i sure do. have been with it for 39 years and just reached goal and became a KOPS. so will graduate here in 3 weeks. so excited can hardly wait. i am graduating at our SRD. good luck to you. LaDean

Welcome aboard! There are a bunch of really caring people on this board. You will get a lot of encouragement and support here. I am sorry to say, I don't get on as much as would like to. There aren't enough hours in my day!!!
Most TOPS chapter are wonderful. I am lucky enough to have a really close and supportive one. We are like family.
It sounds like you off to a good start. Just keep on doing what you are doing and you will be successful!

What is TOPS??

Hello everyone! ive never been but i have been researching up on it. To reply to you, tops is a weightloss support group that is held in tons of communities they have different chapters for different communities! It stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. If youve ever been to a weight watchers meetings its somewhat the same....you get weighed every week, you pick a goal, so on and on. They also have a website so you can see if a chapter is close to you... the site is www.tops.org or the phone number is 18009328677. Hope that helps and goodluck!

Your post just really encouraged me in trying to lose weight. I'm a large woman too and it's hard to face all that weight. I know you've had a eating problem as large as mine or you couldn't have lost over a 100 pound. You go girl, it has helped me to read your post.

Is TOPS for any specific age group? I'm 19. Would I maybe feel out of place? Or are there usually all kinds of ages and backgrounds?

TOPS is for everyone one. There is usually a mixed age group in the chapters. When I joined my chapter I was the youngest (and I'm almost 40!), but we now have a couple of 16 & 17 year olds. I've learned alot from the ladies in the group and they tell me I breathed new life into the group.

I always say you get out of things what you put into them.

You can locate a chapter by going to www.tops.org and searching by your zip code. You can attend your first meeting free to see what you think of it.

You would be welcomed in any chapter, but you could check out some of the chapters in your area to see if they have any members your age, or find a friend to go with you. Good luck to you.

Thanks Susie and Nita. That is very good to know. I think I'll do it! TOPS sounds like something that will help me a lot. I checked out the site and found a few locations around me. It's crazy that I never knew it even existed before. And I took your advice and am having a friend join me in checking it out. We are both trying to reach our weight loss goals before our trip to Calilfornia this summer. We are going to attend a meeting this Thursday!
