Hmmm, just saw this and thought I'd chime in with my opinion, which is just that, an opinion, applying only to me.
I don't eat at fast food joints at all since I'm having so much success with Sugar Busters! ... for me, it's not about weight loss (though it's been good), it's about how good I feel being off of the sugary stuff (which Sugar Busters helped me to do). So I don't trust fast food joints ... in many cases they inject the meat with additives like dextrose (sugar), etc. ... but if I HAD to have a hamburger because I was starving, I'd just toss the refined white flour bun.
For me, it'd be a better option to carry a small cooler (which I often do as I travel on my job) of acceptible food ... you could do this while just traveling around town doing errands all day ... could put in lite cheeses, fruit, maybe some whole wheat bread and chicken breast that you've cooked yourself so you know what's in it ...
And even if fast food is my only option because I'm not always packin' my own food, I can just stop at a convenience store and get some string cheese and some or a little bottle of skim milk to tide me over ... rather than risking going off plan. I also carry unsweetened applesauce in the little cups and unsweetened soymilk and nuts in my car a lot. If I'm stuck without any of these options, there are always grocery stores where one can find some acceptible food ... it's sometimes faster to do that than go through the drive-through at Mickey D's ...
