Diet V-8 Splash

  • Does diet V-8 splash count toward your five a day for fruit and vegetables? Thanks for your help.
  • I don't know, but they taste great don't they? And it's a good way to get some of your water intake for the day.
  • I don't think it would count, as they are only 10% juice.
  • No, it doesn't count. It's not a fruit and it's not a juice. bummer.
  • Sounds great, but I haven't seen it. Is it readily available in grocery stores?
  • Yes. I've found it in several different grocery stores. It's a wonderful fruit drink. Comes in 3 flavors. Right now I'm drinking the Strawberry Kiwi. For 8oz it is only 10 calories, 0 fat,100% Vit. A and C.
  • Just to let you know, one reason it tastes so sweet and has so few calories is because it has a faux sugar in it. It isn't Equal, but I can't think of the name right now. Thought you'd like to know in case you make a practice of avoiding Aspartame, etc.
  • The sweetener is Splenda ...
the label says sucralose, but that is what Splenda is. Don't know why they didn't specifically call it Splenda!
  • Veggie Serving
My WW Leader told us that yes it does count as a veggie serving. So you might want to double check it with your leader.
  • Diet V-8 Splash IS NOT a FRUIT or VEG
Hi there. Let's allay the confusion about diet v-8 splash. Regular V-8, the VEGETABLE juice, is counted toward your vegetable quota. It is counted as most veggies are, as ZERO points. V-8 splash is a "novelty beverage" with no real fruit nutrients in it. Diet v-8 splash, is low cal sister, is also a novely, NON FRUIT beverage. Because it is so low in actual fruit juice it doesn't qualify. Splenda (the trademarked name of sucralose, the chemical sweetener) is what sweetens it, but because it is made by other companies besides the Splenda people, it has to be called by its chemical name (much like, EQUAL vs. aspartame; Sweet'n'Low and saccharine. So, there you have it... Hope this helps.
  • Thanks imaleader. That's the info i was looking for.

  • Points then?
I'm I'm not mistaken, my berry blend DV8 has 10 calories in a serving..
so that would be one point per serving, not none?
  • V-8 Splash and Points...
Ten calories = zero points. If you recall, a single measured teaspoon of sugar is 15 calories, and counts as zero points. However, one tablespoon of suger (3 tsps) counts as one point. If you have the sugar in your coffee or tea, only once a day, that single teaspoon does not count. If you have 3 cups of coffee/tea w/ sugar, you've added a point to your day. SAME WTIH THE V-8 SPLASH. One can, or serving (which ever comes to 10 calories and zero points. However, once you've had 30 calories of it, you must count it, and it does not count as a fruit... bamm-o. (Up to 20 calories of anything, with only CALORIES, but no fat or fiber) is zero. Once you hit 25 calories, it has one point... Hope this helps.
