  • I just found this forum and decided to join! My name is Jenny and I'm 22 years old. I just celebrated my 1 year wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day. When I met my husband I was 17 and he was 16 and I weighed around 220lbs. I'm now very very very sick to my stomach to report that I weigh about 302lbs. I think I just became comfortable with my husband, he has a great metabolism (he eats whatever he wants and has a perfect body) and I have eaten the same way as him for the past 5 years. Needless to say, it's time to take control and take care of myself. In October I joined a fitness center here in town. Now there are no excuses. Some weeks I work out for 3 days, other weeks I don't go. I need to get my butt in gear. So far this week I've gone two days in a row. I need someone to kick my butt but not make me feel like crap.

Also, I have high cholesterol that I need to get into check as well.

Why do I really want to lose the weight? Simple. I want to be a mom. Not right now but in the next couple years we want to have a baby. I want to be a healthy mom and I want to be a healthy weight when I get pregnant. I want to look pregnant and not have to worry about health issues, etc.
  • Try different times for going to the gym and see if you can hit on a particular time that works best. Sometimes it's not so much needing the motivation as needing to fit it into the schedule...so we make excuses because we don't want to work around our set routine. Make it a part of the routine, like go directly to the gym after work before you go home and sit down, or go at lunchtime. Try different times and routines and see if you find one you can stick to.
