Hi Everyone. Let me introduce myself..

  • My Name is Karen and I'm new here. I just joined WW at work last week and a friend told me of this site. I have been reading everyone's post and I'm so excited that this site was given to me. The support here is wonderful.
Well, I'm 41, Married with 2 wonderful children. I live in Wisconsin and I need to lose about 124 pounds. (ok, It's out there for everyone to read!)
I'm really looking for a buddy in the same situation who will keep me motivated and encouraged.
I guess my goal when I started all this was to find the "real Me?" A whole new lifestyle change and a way I can feel healthier and Happier about myself.
I work fulltime and everyone brings treats to work!
I swear some of these people have Birthdays every other month!!
Again, Hello everyone. And I sure hope someone out there needs a buddy too!!
  • Hi Karen!
My name is Lisa and I had to laugh when you said "...ok, it's out there for everyone to read"!! LOL! I felt the same way when I "put mine out there"!! Talk about a harsh reality!!
Well, like I said my name is Lisa, I'm married and 4 great kids. You're right this is a great place to come just to get some hope and encouragement...just to keep you going through the day. I'm not doing WW or anything like that, just doing it the old fashioned way of cutting calories, eating "good" food and not letting my car turn into those fast food joints! A lot of my friends and family have done great on WW, I'm sure you will too.
I started this "diet" (I hate that word) on the 17th of January and am still going strong. I've been a yoyo dieter all of my life, but I think this time I can really do it and keep it off. That's my biggest problem...not losing the weight, but keeping it off. If you'd like to be buddies, just write back here or leave me a PM. Looking forward to hearing from you. Lisa
  • I had to giggle as well, I had never told anyone my weight, well, I hadn't weighed myself for so long (like 5 years) that I didn't have a clue anyway. Now I've invited my mum on the the site, so it won't be a secret anymore!!!!

Best of luck. I have a very "foodie" workplace, it's a call centre and they motivate us with food. I was very open and told my team leader and team mates that I needed their support. And everyone else decided to join in, which was great, for a while, but now their enthusiasm has waned, as I knew it would. So I keep plenty of good treats in my drawer, like baby rice cakes, dried fruit (but only small amounts) tiny squares of good quality chocolate, low fat hot chocolate mixes and miso soup. I never feel deprived when they are eating biscuits and cake, as I know the stash is there should I need it!

You'll love the support you get here, it's very motivating. My biggest challenge is to get more exercise and that's where this group has been really useful for me.
