Totally loving South Beach!

  • Well I've just completed phase 1 of SBD and i am thrilled. The scales aren't being very friendly, but both my partner and I have noticed that the spare tyre round my middle is getting much smaller (which is totally fantastic!)

I posted last week or so about my TOM and putting on weight. It appears that all the weight did come back off again, which is a relief!

Last night and for lunch today I have included some bread into my meals. I have decided to go back on to phase one again, but thought, I'll purposely add some bread to my meals so that i can control the amount I have and avoid a blowout. I know that if I fall off the wagon I'll have a tonne of bad carbs, but this way I don't feel deprived OR GUILTY! (YAY) and i can go back on to phase one and feel good about it. Instead of battling my weaknesses, I am attempting to work "with" them. So far it seems to be working.

I guess it isn't really a problem, because I truly enjoy the SBD plan. I'm interested to see how I go without having my TOM in the middle!

Anyway, even though I don't post often.. it is wonderful to know that support is here! You're a WONDERFUL bunch!
  • Wow JoodyDoody sounds like you are doin great! Post when ya can!
  • Joody, that's wonderful! You must feel so good... keep it up, girl!!
  • Hi Joody, I have to watch my breads also. I usually have 1 grain carb per day, otherwise I'd gain and have to revisit Phase 1 over & over again..
  • Good going on working with the plan, Joody! I've found that I need to stick to one starch a day, too. I have one starch and one fruit each day and am able to lose well that way. Measuring my starches has taken some time, though. I try to stick with what the package says.
  • WTG, Joody... Great start to a terrific WOE.

I, too, have trouble when adding starces and fruits to my diet. I found that, while I was still losing weight, I could only add one every other day. I do monitor my weight closely so that I know which days I can have some and which days that I can't.

    Keep up the great work.
