Hi, new here

  • Hi everyone! Below is my first post, I was recommended to come over here for buddies and support!

    Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and so thrilled to have found it! I am 29, have 2 children 9 & 5. I have put on about 40lbs in the last 3 years. I had a hysterectomy and just started gaining like crazy. I just started eating healthier, cut out soda, and have started to exercise. I keep telling myself I have to stick to this! My health has started to suffer from the weight gain, I now have high blood pressure, and take medicine daily for that, I also have pain in my knees. It also is affecting my marriage and my self-esteem. I am one who needs support and little pushes to stick with a diet. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you, giving, and recieving support.

welcome. I hope you find lots of support here. It has been great for me having others to share my struggle with. I have two children 9 and 2. I am motivated right now by wanting to be a more energetic happy mom. Anyway, hope to see you here lots. Please keep in touch.
  • Thank you for the warm welcome. Yesterday I went into LAWL and did the free consult, I didn't sign up though. I told the lady I needed to discuss it with my husband first. Well I also decided I needed to speak to my Aunt, she has tried most diets, and for health reasons decided to have gastric bypass, she is doing great now. I asked her what she thought about LAWL and she said that was one center she didn't know anything at all about. She did tell me out of every diet she ever tried that WW's was the best! She talked to me about it all for about an hour and I have decided to go with WW's. She said the point system is wonderful. She told me to remember this is a change for life, not just a change until I lose the weight. She also said that I am not past the point of no return and to please not let myself get to that point, she feels that is where she ended up. So what should I expect from WW's? Any info would be very appreciated!!

    Thanks in Advance,
    Athena
  • Welcome. Glad to have you join us. Join in and make yourself at home.
  • Hi Athena
It sounds like you have really put a lot of thought into this. I joined WW last week. As a beginner I can say this.....

The first three days were hard for me because I did not have my house stocked with foods that were WW friendly. It seemed like I was hungry and did not know what to eat. So this is what I did. I got on this site and the WW site and looked up peoples ideas for WW snacks and meals. I made a list and went shopping. And I told my husband that he is not allowed to bring junk into the house. (He doesn't take orders well HEE HEE ). Anyway, he has brought junk into the house and I have been able to ignore it and get my own snacks. Anyway, I think what I am trying to say is the first few days were an adjustment for me. And if you set up your environment it might make it easier?

Please write me anytime. PM or whatever it is called. And hopefully We can be here for each other for support.

    Have a great day.

  • Searching for a group!!!
Hi everybody!! I am fairly new to 3FC and this is my first time to post on the forum. I have to admit I am a voyer. I have read posts on different threads and just didn't know where to jump in. I started WW two weeks ago. I recently organized a group of 22 teachers/staff. WW comes to our school and does the meetings. It has really been nice not to have to worry about finding time to squeeze in a meeting. I am 39, married, and have two beautiful children ages 4 and 6. I am home today because my four year old has tonsilitis. I would really like to find a group on the forums to be a part of. I have really enjoyed journaling this past week and find it helpful but I would really like to find a group to "bond with".

  • question!
Just starting also. I'm doing WW, only without going to meetings...I guess it's really a kind of self-help WW...is it okay to join this forum if you are NOT official WW? I have the points books and the calculator thing and also the trakker...
    regards!
