Trying again...

  • Hi, My name is Shannon, and I am new to the board. I joined WW about 7 years ago, and after having some problems I quit. I am going to try to start it up again, doing it by myself at home. Today is my second day on the program.

The main reason I decided to go on WW is because I started on a medication again that makes me gain weight, so I want to try to cut back so I don't get any bigger than I am now. I would love to loose weight and reach my goal if possible.

I am glad to see that it is possible to do WW at home, with a hectic life right now I do not have time to go to the meetings but I really want to do this.

So I hope that you do not mind a newbie hanging around!
  • Hi Shannon;

I also have been away for a long time and today is my 4th day of doing WW at home. I weigh 215 pounds and would like to lose 65 pounds. My daughter is getting married in August so I would like 45 of those pounds off before then.

I have not been to this board in 2 years and I see a lot of new and exciting things happening since I have been "gone". I look forward to seeing your posts and am eager to re-discover 3fatchicks.
  • Hi! I would be really excited if I can even come close to loosing 45 lbs by August. This board site is really great, I'm glad I found it.
  • Well, count me in as well. I just received my at home kit on Friday and will be beginning tomorrow. Here is hoping that we all do well and reach the goals we have set for ourselves.

I am shooting for my 10% goal as recommended to start with...so that would be 26 pounds, by when...I don't care really - just as long as I get rid of it.

  • Well good luck to all of us. I know we are all going to do great! Could you tell me a little about your home kit? I.E. where you can order it from etc? Thanks.
  • I ordered my home kit from www.weightwatchers.com
I know you can also get them off of eBay as well, but I went w/ the WW site because they do offer more support when you buy from them as opposed to buying from someone else. You get 26 weeks of phone support (if needed/wanted), a one year subscription to their magazine and a few extras as well...exercise DVD, pedometer, points bracelet, etc. I thought it was worth the money for me at this time. It was $125, and to me I'd rather have paid that than pay $12 a week to go to meetings. In the long run it would have cost me much more that way and I can get support from the great people here at 3FC.

    Hope this helps!

  • Thanks for the information. I will check it out and see if we can buy it here in Canada.

Well, today was my first weigh-in and I showed a loss of 2 pounds. I know, I know that is terrible. But I also know I am a slow loser and have made peace with that. SO, I was happy to see those 2 pounds gone!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great week.
  • Darn! Just as I thought. Does not appear that WW at home program is available in Canada. I know you can joing WW online, but it does not come with all the books etc. Oh well, I tried. Will have to continue with what I have!!!
  • Congrats on the 2 lb loss...don't be upset about it! At least it is something gone which is important!

Sorry to hear that you can't order that in Canada. Is there someone you know in the states here that could possibly order it for you and ship it to you? Just a thought.

Congrats again on the weight loss - and I am sure you can find tons of helpful information here at 3FC during your journey. Even though I just started, I'd be more than happy to help you out in any way that I can.

  • Welcome Gizzy.....

I am sorry I can't remember exactly how the signature lines are set up - I just figured out how to change my weight I know it tells you somewhere how to do it - perhaps someone else can remind me

I am now into my sixth week of WW at home (without the program - just winging it) and and glad to have 10 pounds gone! Only 10.75 to go and I have made my "first" 10 per cent.

Keep up the great work girls!
