Sodium & Tomato Juice

  • Hi all - I am new to the SBD. Am trying to plan some new menus and I have a concern about Tomato juice and any other foods that are higher in sodium.

My diet is sodium restricted due to a mild case of Psuedo Tumor Cerebri and I would like to know if anyone has any good suggestions for something else to have a breakfast. Even lower-sodium tomato juices and broths are too much for me sometimes.

Can I substitute whole veggies instead? I am trying to follow the suggested menu plans because I am so new to this! Thank you for any ideas that you might have!!!
  • Hello inquisitrix, and welcome to the beach! Yes, you can definitely have all (the appropriate phase) the veggies you want. The tomato juice is suggested because so many folks like to have some juice at breakfast, and because it is filling, but you don't HAVE to have it.

Be sure to check out the FAQs here and the sticky(s) too. There is a lot of helpful info for newbies.
  • Oh, absolutely! Whole veggies are even better!
