question on meal replacements

  • is there a problem with protien shakes on atkins? basically i have bacon and eggs for breakfast chicken and veg for dinner but in the middle of the day im' not hungry and anything cooked is far to heavy on the stomarch so i've been using protein shakes instead each one has about 22g of carbs in but i'm still losing and as its strawberry flavour it adds a better dimension to my daily eating
  • Eas has protien shakes that are 3 grams per scoop...and some kind of filler that makes them really thick....I dont like them with water, but milk is a killer so I use heavy cream thinned with water and ice- I get a HUGE glass for like 6 carbs and it really fills me up but it leaves me within a couple hours I guess because of all the water....
  • see i'm kinda dependant on what the olds bring into the house at the moment so cream is out of the question so i'm on skimmed milk but the way my lifestyle is i've found if i put in around 30 -50 carbs a day i lose weight faster than lower if i go below 20 i get the dizzy spells and headaches
  • Sounds like you body is trying to tell you something Si, and if you are looosing still then I say Go for it!!
  • Why mess with a good thing? If you can drink those things (I've never tried one) and still lose weight then I say go for it. Everyone is different and really Atkins is kind of a guideline on how we should do things. Once you get the hang of it.....how you lose weight is an individual thing. Make it up as you go!! Congrats on losing!!
