I threw a suprise party for a friend of mine because her boyfriend (my boss) suddenly had to have surgery and she cancelled her Vegas birthday party (which she had invited a bunch of her friends, including me, to). She was resigned to have a "sit around and watch movies" party. We decided to throw an Egyptian themed (her birthday was going to be at the Luxor - the egyptian hotel) party for her. I wasn't sure how I was going to ever pull off a costume but I pulled together some old bellydance stuff and the vintage clothing store that I live behind let me borrow the headpiece - it's peacock feathers (very cool) with the green veil. I may have to buy it now, it's just so cool.

Yes, if you're wondering, I did have trouble keeping eye contact with anyone all evening. Apparently, my cleavage is very distracting!
