the biggest loser

  • Any body watch this? If so, what did you think?Pretty unfair I think to vote off someone who didnt lose as much- theres no way a 167 person is going to lose as much as a 436 person.....and they got tempted ( some of them) so easily....I mean, I can't seem to keep on track some days....but if there was a million dollars staring me in the face...I'd manage!
  • I haven't heard of it. But are they all:
A: trying to lose the same amount and
B: Approximately the same age (we all know the older you get the harder it is to lose weight)

Those 2 combined would make it hard if they're not equal. And I don't think even for that amount of money I could stay OP. Not unless someone locked me in a room. lol
  • I didn't watch it, but I've heard people talking about it. I really didn't think they'd kick people off. I thought they would all stay and see who could lose the most weight in the end. That's really unfair to expect a person who doesn't have much to lose competing against someone who is grossly overweight.

And, $1 million would be a great incentive to stay OP. Heck, even if someone offered me $5 to stay OP, I'd do it. Money is such a great motivator.
  • Brenda- it is teams of people who "in total" are within a few pounds of each other...pretty well matched in that there are a couple of morbidly obese going down to a couple with maybe 30 pounds to lose...the teams work out and do challenges for a week, and then they all weigh and the team that has lost the least weight has to vote one person off.....along the way they tempt them with tables full of junk food...I agree with Jina...money is the GREAT motivator!
  • I saw The Biggest Loser. One thing I can't believe like you, Marie, is how they're complaining that they're hungry. They have a chance to win a quarter of a million dollars, but then again, I think they are being starved, in a way. 638 calories for one lady's daily cal. count and that's with 5 hours a day of vigorous, strenuous excercise. She doesn't know what she's supposed to be eating, let alone to fuel her body with training like that.

The competition part about it is voting each other off; they voted the smallest one off last night because they didn't think she could lose much more weight for their team--so that's not good for winning at being the biggest loser.

I think anyone can watch the next one and still know what's going on. I'm sure they'll recap the first show anyway.

It's amazing how one or two of them lost 20 or so pounds in one week!

The group was split up into two group, one low carb and one low calorie.
They had to come to the table filled with bacon, sasauge, pancakes, etc. and then choose only the right things to eat. Many were yelling "stay away from the sasauge, stay away from the sasauge! "

I'm sure I'm leaving some things out and maybe didn't quite see things right, but to me, it looks easy in a way, and very difficult.
  • Oh man, that one crying woman was getting on my nerves...I know she was stressed and whatnot but jeez....it's just food!-I thought she was gonna go agro, seriously. and then after the fact, when her team won, she had the nerve to come in and taunt that other guy about having to vote someone on his team off.....for 1/4 of a million, you could wire my jaw completely shut-lol
  • I started to watch it but it was too dumb to watch, I had to turn it, it grossed me out.
  • I have a hard time watching reality shows (except COPS...filmed on location ) . When I watch tv I want something that isn't real. Kind of a mind numb-er?
Hmm...why is it when you add -er it goes from being Numb to number (as in 8, or 3)??
