once a day foods

  • I have the core list of foods and have a question about it. It says to have macaroni, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, potatoes, yams only once a day. Now does that mean I can only choose one of those foods for my daily, eat as much as I want? Or does it mean I can eat all of those any time during the day?

    Example: breakfast- steamed potatoes, fruit

    Lunch- brown rice, steamed veggies

Supper- whole wheat pasta with turkey meatballs and salad

    Thanks

  • It means you can choose one out of the three options (ww pasta, brown rice, potatoes-any type) per day not one serving of each. Macaroni is not core unless it's whole wheat.

    ex:
    b: eggs, fruit
    l: grilled chicken and veggies
d: ww pasta, brown rice OR potato, meatballs and salad

If you choose to have any of these at more than one meal, you should use points for those servings. I don't believe portion sizes have been mentioned, but I may be wrong. I think you eat til satisfied but I usually measure out a portion. I don't want to go overboard.

    Hope I helped.
  • Another twist on the menu is that you are allowed cereal for breakfast:

    ex:
    b: cereal, fruit
    l: grilled chicken and veggies
d: ww pasta, brown rice OR potato, meatballs and salad
  • Yes, that has been a big help. Thank you.
