  • Good Morning,

Its rainy out but supposed to get sunny later on, I hope so
Today I'll be baking ice cream cone cup cakes and a regular cake for my Mom' birthday tomorrow, then I plan on taking DD bowling. But first I need to vacuum and clean the down stairs, kitchen & living room....ick.

    Watcha all doing today?
  • It's a beautiful day in Wisconsin, after we had some really awful weather a few days ago. Tornados swept through our state and killed a man and injured his wife. A friend from another board told me that even if this couple would have made it to their basement, it wouldn't have mattered. The tornado sucked everything out of their house....even the plastic lining out of the freezer in the basement. The entire homestead was destroyed. I sat and alternately watched the TV weather alerts and the sky as it turned from dark gray to peach and said, "Oh ****!". We got high winds, thunder and sheets of rain. Of course, Goldie the chicken-hearted dog paced and wanted to sit on our laps.

My email still isn't working. I think that I'll just open a new account. I can receive and, sometimes, forward, but I can't send.

Going shopping today. Tomorrow is West Bloomfields Chicken BBQ. It is an annual event to raise money for our little fire dept. Every little community around here has one on a certain weekend for the various fire depts since, when there is a fire, everyone shows up. I remember when the house across the road burned, I had an ambulance from God-knows-where sitting right by my bedroom window.

Have a good weekend everyone and God bless!
  • Good Morning Gang!

guess what! it's raining! *sigh* it seems like it has been raining forever! My dear hubby doesn't want me washing too many clothes because he is afraid the ground is too wet and that the water will back up into the house (of course this has never happened because we don't ever try it out when it is sooooooooo wet) LOL but I'm gonna sneak in 3 loads today or who knows what will happen LOL

Since I can't wash like I need too, and cleaning house would mean at least 3 more loads of sheets, I have decided not to clean house today! yipppeeee! just gonna do some picking up and hitting some spots that have to have some attention. But I'll just leave the cleaning til next Saturday. Aren't ya'll excited!

Leenie - have fun today and tell your mom Happy Birthday tomorrow from me! how old will she be!

TIPPY! it is soooooo good to see a post from ya girlie! can't believe ya'll had all that bad weather. I'm glad that you are ok. So sorry to hear about the man and his wife! that is awful! what ya gonna go shopping for today? anything fun?

Well I need to get some breakfast and decide if I'm gonna get in a workout today or take the day off. decisions decisions decisions! LOL

Hope everybody has a BLESSED day!

    hugs,
    cathy

  • Morning everyone…

Well… I have some good news and some bad news. Which do you want first?

Bad News : I’m sick… TOM is here and I leave for vacation tomorrow.

Good News: I met my goal of 350lbs!! I didn’t think it was possible to do it in such a short time. I’m happy. I just gotta be careful about loosing it so fast that it comes back twice the speed.

More Good News: James bowled a 297 last night! WOOHOO! 11 straight X’s and then a 7 in the last throw. He was so nervous he was shaking. My poor baby! He got a free t-shirt LOL…

Good to hear from you again Tippy!

I’m a little down in the dumps, but I just wanted to come… blab a little. Share some of the excitement. I gonna go lay down. Got some packing to do. I hope this is just a 24 hour bug. I tried Claritin last night, thinking it might have been allergies since I was sneezing and my nose was runny and what not. Now I’m on Dayquil and praying for the best hehehe…

    I’ll catch you ladies later…

    Huggerz…
  • Wow Sue, Good job. Rainy day here in VA too. Makes it hard to get motivated. Is it just me or do we seem to have more tornados than we did a few years ago? Or is it just faster reporting? Thanks for being here.
  • Hi again

Sue.....good for you for reaching this goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....how much did you lose.....how long did it take?

I did about 2 hours of cleaning yesterday....so today I don't think I will do too much....am tired anyway....from not enough sleep last night
I was sitting on the deck in the lounge chair...was out there for about an hour....reading & relaxing.

  • BabyCakes, Congratulations on hitting your first goal you surely deserve it. Feel better, we can't have you going away sick. Bring some pamprin and have a good time. WTG for James 297 WOW he was smokin' congrats to him.

Tcstart, you know for the past few years jersey's been having weird weather as well. Its like its all or nothing around here. If we get rain, its ALOT, if its snow, its ALOT, sheeesh but all in all we've been pretty darn lucky. I've been to VA once, me and DH stayed on the beach for a night back in 1990. Yeah loooong time ago. There was one hotel Omni that had the best food I've ever eaten, can't remember where in VA it was or if its still there.

Well its been a long day for me so I'm ready to hit the sack.

    Nighty Night All, until tomorrow
  • Hello everyone…

Yes, I definitely am sick. James thinks it’s a combination of the weight loss, exercise and lack of sleep that I’ve been getting. Thinks I may have weakened my immune system some and became vulnerable to whatever was in the air. I think it’s just a cold and I’m praying it’s a short one hehehe. But I’m going to be taking it easy over the next few days. Getting in some rest and tons of water and some hot tea with honey and lemon in it. I also will not be doing any exercising. Honestly, I dunno how the resting will go because we’ll be out at Pismo Beach and I wanted to rent some ATV’s and go to the water park *sniffle* But I gonna do what I can, I’ve been really drained on my energy…. So I’m just kicking off the sneakers and putting on a pair of fuzzy bunny slippers for a while. I just hope that this doesn’t make me gain anything back… hmm…I also hope it wasn’t because I was getting sick that I lost the weight. I’m going to stay on program as far as how much calories I’m eating, I just gonna curb the exercising for a while.

April – I decided back in February I was going to start doing something serious about my weight. That’s when I started to post on here more often, talking, asking questions, and getting ideas on what people are doing and what works for them and such. I first weighed myself February 11 at 378lbs. It was a roller coaster the first month, I went up and down… and finally today I’ve lost 28lbs total. So 4 months to loose 28 lbs. It was nothing fancy really as far as what I did. I basically used fitday.com to calculate how much I was eating on a normal basis, which was like really scary and close to about 3200 calories a day. The first month I took myself down to 2300, and it seemed I was doing okie on that, then I finally decided to cut back to 1600-1800 calories. It’s been more like 1800 calories than 1600, but it was still a big change. I didn’t want to cut back right away because I was afraid I was gonna feel like I was starving to death and end up quitting… which when I went from 2300 to 1800 I did feel a bit of a struggle and almost did quit. But I managed to pull through and I’m just feeling so proud of myself right now. My next hurdle will be getting below 300lbs, but all in moderation… baby steps heheh. The part I’m scared about is hitting this “Plateau” that everyone has been talking about. But I guess I’ll tackle that when I get there.

    I’ll catch you ladies later…

    Huggerz…
  • Happy Sunday Everyone

Got lots to do today so this will be very short, going grocery shopping for mom, gotta run the food to her house then come back home get her b/d cake, run back to her house, cut her lawn, help hubby install mom's oven, come home finish laundry, swim w/dd, cook something for the week (maybe)... zoom!!!

    Have a wonderful day
  • Good Afternoon Gang!

wow Leenie - you sound busy - hope your mom has a great birthday and all goes well.

April - hope you got some sleep last night!

SueMarie - CONGRATS on reaching your first goal! you know if I'm gonna come down with something it always seems to be around TOM. I think our immune systems just get a little run down right before we start. I sure hope you feel better soon! have a safe trip!

I ended up taking the day off yesterday and didn't get in any exercise, but this morning I got up early before church, and went for a 2 mile power walk around our block. I had to go in the drizzling rain but I went! It sure felt good to just go for a regular walk and not have to worry about hand movements and hand weights and jazz. So that makes 42 miles for June so far.

Hope everybody is having a good weekend!

    hugs,
    cathy
  • Hi everyone

Cathy.....I did get to sleep last night....slept well....maybe the Melatonin is starting to work....I read about Celexa...that I was on...one can have withdrawal symptoms for 8 weeks after you go off of it.

Sue....the only thing I find about going to fitday...is the extra time I spend on the computer.

It is pouring rain today....it has been so hot the last week or more....we needed this rain....not much happening today....am going to go read my book.

  • Just wanted to say hi... am working out at the gym quite regularly now. We just added in weights for upper and lower body.. I hurt, but yanno, it feels good.

Three more days and I'm off for the summer. My goal is to make the gym 5x week. The trainer has varied my weight training for each day so by week's end I've worked all my muscles. I do abs every day as well as the cross-trainer (30-40 min) for cardio.

I hit my first mini-goal of 5 pounds.

hope everyone is having a terrific weekend. Hub and daughter leave Friday for the Canadian Junior Judo Nationals. Keep your fingers crossed for daughter She's pumped. Her home club head coach passed away a month ago. He had been diagnosed with cancer and given 6 months. He made 2. She and hub have been devasted by this; he was a grandfather to her, and a second father to my hub. She was really hoping to come home with a medal to show him.

    Have a great week everyone.
