Holiday advice please!

  • Ok, so it's my last weigh in tonight before we jet off to Majorca on our summer hols, I think I may have only lost a pound or so since last week but thats ok, it's the meeting when we come back that I'm dreading. It will be my first long holiday since starting WW in Jan, and I just wondered how other people got through their hols, knowing that when they get back after having a wonderful time, they will have to be weighed again!
Shall I count points whilst away, or forget it for a week and just worry when I come back? All advice gratefully received.
    Thanks, Dawn x
  • When I was in London back in March I just ate sensibly--I enjoyed the various foods but didn't go "overboard" and eat until I was uncomfortable. I also found that I ate when I was hungry. I had breakfast at the hotel (fruit, roll, cheese, tea) and then lunch was late and was like an early dinner and at dinner time I usually had a salad/soup. When I came back I was down .6 and very happy with that. I also did a lot of walking and made sure I got enough water in. You can enjoy yourself and still maintain/lose. You need to decide before you go if you'd be happy with maintaining/losing/gaining and what amount, etc. Enjoy the trip!
  • Hi Melissa, thanks for the advice, I do enjoy walking, and will probably be pushing our little boy's buggy up and down a few hills here and there, so that should help a bit.
I will be happy to maintain when I return, so I guess if I'm careful and do a bit of extra swimming in the sunshine I should be ok.
Hope you enjoyed your visit to London, there is so much to see that unless you can make several trips there, you just can't see it all. If you return to England though, the fantastic countryside of the Peak District is unmissable and like nowhere else in the world. I live nearby and I suppose I take it for granted sometimes, I think I should probably use the hills to do some extra walking!
    Thanks again, Dawn.
