Survived the Kayak Race

  • Hello, Beach Chickies! I've been off-line for four days. My DS and I went "home" to New England for the annual Blackstone River Kayak and Canoe Race! Boy, was I slow -- terror will do that to you. But the rapids were small, and I didn't tip over. Of course, leave it to me to go to a kayak race and get a prize -- for driving the furthest We managed to stay close to plan the whole time -- an amazing accomplishment with relatives offering food every second! We did go to the Moonlight Cafe for weenies one evening -- sort of a tradition. But aside from that and too many pistachios on the road, we stuck in there. We're really rather relieved to be home and decided to Phase I for a few days -- more from the relief from too much salt in the "commercial" foods than anything else. Seems like even the "legal" foods are super-salted. Can't wait to go out o the lake here again!
  • Congratulations, Natter! What a great accomplishment!
    I love your prize...
  • Wow! Last time I was in a kayak was March of 1958 when I got a doozie of a sunburn out on Lac Deschenes!
Good for you! That must have been incredible exercise!
  • Ellis, what's even funnier is that the prize was...measuring cups Ruth, sunburn wasn't a problem. Frostbite...now that was a possibility!
  • Congrats! That sounds like a lot of fun!
  • Natter, what a great "booby prize" and major accomplishment! I bet you have arms of steel now!

And a very strong sense of self-control...both you and your DH!

This forum is overflowing with self control today, it seems!
  • Measuring cups, Natter...
