Daily for Tuesday

  • Hi Ladies ~ You know I was only .75 pound away from completing the Easter Challenge. Now my scale is up 3 to 4 pounds. I am just so disgusted with myself. I am going to walk my butt off between now and Thursday and will be happy with a pound or two gain. I am again focussing on me. I have decided what the problem is besides the new birth control i just went on. (got to blame it on something.....lol) Every weekend we go down the river. Well the river is where we eat junk junk and more junk. So I need to devise myself a plan to keep healthy foods within my reach. We always fry fish for supper and eat eggs and saugage and bacon for breakfast and chips chips and more chips throughout the day. So I have to make myself a list of healthy foods to bring with me to eat. I have to be stronger than this.

    I know I am just going on and on about myself. And there might be someone else out there that needs help too! How is everyone else doing?????????? Your Friend Penny

    Hey Penny,
    Girl I know exactaly how you feel!!! Every other weekend my husband is of work we GO EAT! And he talks me into some of the worse places!! Then to make matters worse he is off some Mondays and Tuesdays too so He likes me to buy him chips and dip and hamburgers and sometimes ice cream and lets not forget HOTDOGS and chili LOL, He has always been able to eat whatever he wants and stay the same weight so it doesnt bother him much, heck a few pounds did him good he was So skinny I know I need more willpower on those days but somehow or the other I join in on at least 2 out of the six meals just because it looks so good after eating diet food that week, SO I am with you on trying harder to put healthier choices in my reach even when he is eating all the junk!! We can do it I just know it!!! I am sure willing to try ..... cause I go up and down on the ol scale 1-2 pounds something awful because of it. Well I just had to respond and say..... I know how you feel and together we are all gonna win this thing NO MATTER WHAT!!

    Don't beat yourself up Penny. It happens to everyone. I am going through a slump too and I don't know why. Realistically I don't think you have really gained 3 or 4 pounds. Even tho we think we have eaten badly......we just don't eat that much to gain that much extra. I am having problems with water retention (too much salt on the weekend) and your new pills could be causing that for you. I wouldn't rule them out. I think you are right about having something healthy readily available. If I don't have something healthy then I will reach for all the bad things. All these other foods are okay in monderation but.......sometimes it is hard to eat in moderation. Keep your chin up and everything will work out.

    Not too much else is happening here. I have a wind up meeting for the project I was on....glad it is over but it was good experience for me. I then have to go to a meeting this afternoon at one of our facilities. I enjoy going to those because I get to see a lot of the people I talk to on the phone all the time but don't get a chance to see. I will check in tomorrow but probably won't get another chance today.

    Well I gained 3/4 of a pound. I knew I would gain something. But it will be all right.
    Not much more to say, just trying to get back on track. I'm really tired, going to go lay down.

  • It looks like a few of us are on the same track.The wrong track.But we go thru this from time to time but we get it back together.It is so disheartening when we have these days and that is when it is good to be able to come here and vent and know your friends understand.
    Congrats and a big hooray for those that are doing so great.For the rest of us.We have to hang in there,these not so good days will pass.
    Had my finger checked today.She confirmed what I already knew.I will never have full use of right hand but hopefully therapy will improve it some.
    Did not get much exercise in today.10 laps in pool was about it.Will try to do ab-doer after my supper settles down.Made homemade chicken/potao soup.Only problem is it was too good and I ate way too much.Buttered bread I ate with it didn't help.So much for will power.
    Just out of curiosity?Are all of your husbands not overweight like my hubby.He needs to lose maybe 10#.
    We are like the couples I use to see and said I would never get like that.Well I did and then some.
    Gotta go.
    Tommorrow is a new day.Everything looks better after a good nights sleep

    I wanted to check in and let you all know how I did today. I am very proud of myself. I stayed on plan all day. I made spaghetti sauce in the crockpot last night so it was all ready when I got home tonight so I didn't have to eat out. Then I took a waterbottle with me and I drank 1/2 my water while riding around today seeing potential customers. I also brought an apple with me to eat on the way home so that I wasn't starving by the time I got there and made my dinner. Lunch went well. I had a cup of 7 bean vegetable soup and a turkey with mustard and lettuce and tomato sandwich and water. I only have 1/2 pt to spare tonight and I am hungry. But I just finished my water for the day so that is probably the problem I am more thirsty then hungry. But I am not going to eat another thing tonight. I will not go over my points this week. I have done great all week and I don't want to screw it up now. I am the only one that can make that choice.

    Sorry to hear that there are some that are having a rough time. Eleni is right it goes in spurts here on the boards. Some weeks we all do well, others we all do terrible and in between some of us and doing well and others aren't. I know I had my bad spell for about 6 weeks.

    We are the only ones that control what we eat. I have learned that if you want something bad enough then you have to stand up to that nagging feeling to eat that you have. I know how it is. Sometimes it is so strong it seems unbearable. But we can do it. And when we finally do stand up to it then we know that we are truly back on track.

    Don't beat yourself up about it either. We are all human and this is a lifetime committment wether we are a top or a kop. It doesn't matter. It is just as hard either way. And someday we will all be kops and we will still be struggling from week to week. So if we have a few weeks that we fall just pick yourself back up again and start over. The most important thing to remember is to NEVER QUIT. That is when the committment is truly over. I will never quit. I get off track and back on again but I am always looking to reach my goal and never give up. Yes it takes longer to get there by straying but as long as we don't give up we are all still winners.

    The nurse weighed me today and I gained 2 lbs. I told her that I was really trying now and that I didn't make my easter goal that I set for myself that I had set another one for me. She said sherri that doesn't matter. And if you don't make this goal that is okay to. I am proud of you anyway because you are still trying no matter what and you have not given up, and that is all that counts. It felt so great to hear that and know that someone was proud of me even though myself I knew that I have been screwing up.

    So I am passing this on to you. I am proud of all of you for being here and making the effort and sticking with it. We can do this as long as we stick together.

    Don't worry whatever you gain (if any) this week you can lose next week. The important thing is that you realize that you are giving in every weekend and that you are willing to make the changes for you to keep you on your plan and you are making healthier choices. Just think the boys could use some of that healthy food also instead of chips all the time. Try some fruit that you could cut up and put in bagges and put in the cooler. And you do the shopping for the trips so you can change the menu if you like. I have found that the ballpark hotdogs Fat Free are pretty good. They are only 50 cal. per hot dog and no fat.

    You don't give up either. You can do this. We all need to think positive things about ourselves and make the time for us and that seems to help us get back on track. Sorry to hear about your hand. Will it effect your job?

    I didn't forget you. You have been doing great also. You just have to get focused on you again. How did your meeting go yesterday that you were supposed to have?

    I know what you mean. We order out or take out every friday. I always go overboard on those nights. That is why I made it my free night of the week. I did great this past friday. But it is hard to resist. But if I can sit in dunkin doughnuts and not eat anything or drink anything and go to pizza hut and not eat the breadsticks, wings and pizza that everyone else is having and order something that you really don't want then you can do it also. Just remember that there are healthy choices out there to make at resteraunts. Unless you go to a buffet and then you might as well hang it up.LOL There is no way anyone can stay on plan at a place like that. That is why I told my husband we can't go to a buffet until after June 4th until I lose this 10 lbs.LOL. I was serious also. It is so hard to stay on track when you eat out. I never know what to order for take out to stay within my range. I couldn't imagine doing it as often as you do. Couldn't you just talk to your husband and tell him that you would prefer to stay in and not eat out so often. I love to eat out to.LOL
    Good luck though and I know you can do better. You reached KOPS status so you do know what to do. And you can do it again.

  • Hi all - well I weighed in today and I did better than last week. I was down 2 1/4. It must be from all the great support that I get on this board.
    Girlie if you come back to read this - TOPS is take off pounds sensibly. I have just joined and the deal is you go on any diet that you wish . I am on the weight watchers diet. The price tho' is so much cheaper. Approx 20 US - in Canada - 25.00 CDN and approx 5.00 month. It is a non profit group and meetings seem to be run more on a club type atmosphere. The ladies are so friendly and with the support on this board it is alot easier to get through the days to my goal.
    I hope everyone has a good week and I will check in when I can.
